The reel is in excellent working condition. There are some scratches present. And wear to the lettering. An example of the reel it fits can be seen in another of my auctions. I believe this model reel was originally called the Battenkill Large Arbor 5/6, before it was renamed the III, so it should also fit the BLA 5/6 reel. The spool is in pretty nice shape. There are some little marks along the spool rim. It fits great on the reel I'm selling. Very Nice Orvis Battenkill Mid Arbor III Fly Reel With Fly Line/Backing This is a very clean reel with almost no signs of cosmetic wear. If it weren't for a few very minor nicks. You would call this in mint condition. Unfortunately there is no reel case; but there is a cloth bag that serves to protect the reel from hard knocks. Its fine condition attests to the fact that the bag is doing its job well. The reel is loaded with what appears to be a high quality fly line and backing. Although its origin and type are unknown. From appearances, I would judge it to be a floating line. Here's a very nice reel. You won't find many like it!
