It has only been lawn cast a few times and has not been near fresh or salt water. I'm only selling the reel as I don't fish in salt water. And it seems a waste to have such a nice reel not out there being used by someone who will appreciate it. I know I'll regret it! It's in excellent condition. With minimal light scuff marks visible on the finish. There is one very small mark on the anodising(shown in the last photo, adjacent to the corner of the assembly tool being held) The reel has been been stored in the neoprene case and wooden presentation box, with the drag backed off to minimum. For auction is a used Billy Pate Marlin anti-reverse fly reel. It is a right handed model. The reel was purchased new and has been in my possession for several years. It is in excellent condition. I have carefully maintained this reel and it was always thoroughly rinsed. Dried and lubricated after every fishing trip. The mechanics are sound. The few cosmetic flaws are mostly on the back plate around the rim. These can be seen by carefully examining the photographs. The listing includes the factory neoprene cover, but does not include the factory box. The spool diameter is 4.25 inches and it is 2.25 inches wide. The reel weighs 15+ ounces un-lined and 20.5 ounces lined. The line consisted of 600 yards of 30lb braided line. A shooting line and a T14 head. I decided to remove the lines because one of the last fish caught buried the backing at ... moreabout 100 yards. Hint to buyer: When you reline this reel have the backing put on mechanically. Up for bids is this used. Left handed#2 Fin-Nor Anti-Reverse Series Fly Reel. Included in the package is an extra set of the various inner washers. It is filled with backing and also fly line. I don't know what kind of line it is however. This was my stepfathers reel and he would be the only one who knew what kind of line it is and unfortunately he has passed away. It has some scuff marks from normal wear and tear, the most noticeable is an area of about 1/4 inch where the finish is worn. This spot can be seen in one of the photos. The reel though is in good solid shape. I took a look at the insides and everything looks solid. It is a used reel and it does have a little old reel grease and such on the inside. With a very little amount of TLC in the form of a cleaning and re-lubing I'm sure this reel would perform like new and last ... morea very long time.

Pflueger Supreme Fly Reel, anti reverse, free spool function, ancient
This is an auction of one Pflueger Supreme Fly Reel. Used, and still in good condition. The reel shows the usual wear associated with normal use. The reel has a frame piece from a Pflueger 1495 Medalist replacing the original piece, which must have broken at some point. The reel drag functions fine, but the drag application takes place through a very narrow range of setting.I am not sure why that is, but some of the experts might have an idea about that being typical or maybe it can be enhanced somehow. The backplate of the reel, in the photos, shows a large manual selector, which converts the reel to a free spool mode, like a center pin function.interesting, but not for everyone I suppose. But it is obvious that the free spool mode would be ideal for the old fashioned extended drift fishing we use to do with Cogrove Reels of yesteryear, which is the function of the recent discovery of the use of center pin reels. There are some minor surface scratches, scrapes and light rubs present along reel and spool's rimmed edges and face, but nothing beyond what one would expect in reel that's seen occasional use over the years. Structurally and mechanically sound throughout. A quick testing of the reel's adjustable cork-disc drag confirms smooth increasing tension throughout its entire range with no stutter, stick or hesitation noted, and the anti-reverse function still performs flawlessly too. A careful disassembly and thorough inspection of the reel's interior confirms all parts still perfectly intact and fully serviceable with no excessive residue build up. Tarnishing, rust or oxidization found. The machined reel foot appears still straight and tight with no signs of warp or excessive wear noted. The reel is U.S.A. made and saltwater grade(aluminum and stainless steel parts) The DXR 9/10 Anti-Reverse is designed to handle larger game like Striped Bass. Bluefish, False Albacore, Redfish, Snook, Bonefish, Permit& small Tarpon. The big fish fighting capabilities of the DXR reels are in Anti-Reverse models. Handle does not spin when fish runs so your fingers and knuckles are safe. Unlike most Anti-Reverse reels these are easily convertible from right to left-hand retrieve. Exposed rim allows you to add additional drag pressure by palming the reel spool. This is a Billy Pate Tibor Bonefish fly fishing reel in anti-reverse with right hand retrieve. I bought it thinking I would use it for steelhead. But at this point don't need it. They are designed for 7, 8, or 9 weight lines with appropriate backing. The anti-reverse is designed to protect those knuckles during fast runs from fish like the Bonefish it is named for. It is in very good used condition with some very minor rim rash that I tried to show in the second to last photo. There is also some light scratching on the back which is shown in the photo of the back(last photo) Comes with factory neoprene case which is in pretty good shape with the camoflague lining. I purchased this reel new in 2002, and used it a total of exactly one(1) time. It was obscenely expensive, and is now discontinued.
