The reel has a width of.80" Diameter of 3.50" weight of 5.1oz. and is classified for 5 or 6 weight lines with over 100 yards of 20# backing. This durable. Workhorse reel has been a favorite from Ross for years. The reel is very light and extremely dependable. It features different incoming and outgoing clicks, a small arbor to fit a generous amount of backing and is lightweight in hand compared to similar sized reels. Superb J W YOUNG centrepin trotting fly fishing reel + Spare Spool
You are bidding on a centerpin fly fishing reel with a spare spool. It is a Pridex by JW Young& Sons so this. As you will already know is a quality fishing reel from a very high quality manufacturer. Age unknown but the reel comes with two spools so you can load one with sinking and another with floating line. One spool has line on it already. I think it’s a sinker– but it would be worth replacing with some new as I can’t remember how old it is. The reel and spools are in great condition for their age and work as they should. This is a great little reel that has taken some lovely fish over the years but just isn't getting used any more so I would rather it went to somebody that can use it. Penn 2.5 Fly Fishing Reel Spare Spool Box Manual Pouch Used Excellent Condition
Hi. I purchased the with full intentions of using it but just never did. Penn made three different sizes of these, this being the middle size, the reel is about 3 1/4" diameter and 1" wide. Please zoom in on ALL the pictures to see the specs on the owners manual and box. I'm calling this used only because I don't want you to be disappointed in it's condition. It has never had line on it or been fished, it's only been removed from the box on a rare occasion, and admired by me, I see no scratches or marks of any kind on it. The spare spool box had some writing on it that doesn't have anything to do with the spool, I wonder if it was a store employee's notes for something? This reel was made when materials like aluminum, brass and stainless steel were less costly than they are now and Penn didn't cut any ... morecorners when they produced these reels, even the pouch has real embroidering on it!
