This is an Orvis fly reel for 8 and 9 weight lines. The reel was made in England and comes with a weight forward 9 weight line. I used it for saltwater fishing mostly. It is in great used condition. The reel is sold with a padded cordura and foam case as well as an extra spool also with a line. Not sure what type. The extra spool comes with an Orvis pouch. Flat shipping on this item is $10 in the 48 states and actual shipping charges elsewhere.

This reel is in like new condition except for 2 tiny dings on the top of the reel foot as seen in the photos. It is currently set up for right hand retrieve. However could easily be switched to left. Having said that, I hasten to add that the reel is in correct working condition; its blemishes are cosmetic, not damage. The 8/9 Disc is a standard arbor reel, with a wide spool that is 3 3/8 inches in diameter. The reel weight is about 5 1/2 oz. model, and will hold about 220 yds. of 20 lb. backing with a WF8F line or 170 yds. with a WF9F. It has a offset, compression gear disc drag system. The reel was made in England for Orvis by British Fly Reels. The reel has seen modest use. And remains in very good condition. There are areas of slight finish wear. The reel works nicely, with a strong drag. It is set for left hand retrieve, and can be easily converted to right, merely by inverting the center gear on the spindle so the"R" marked side is up.
