This is an exceptional Abu Ambassadeur 5000 4 Screw Baitcasting Reel. This reel should be considered in"collectable condition" Several weeks after purchasing. I brought this reel to the Abu Garcia booth at the 2012 Muskie Expo in St. Paul, Minnesota. This reel was inspected. Cleaned and lubed professionally by Chuck Brod of The Sportsman Repair Shop. Mosinee, WI. While disassembling this reel, he stated that it probably had never been used as it had absolutely no signs of any mechanical wear whatsoever. He also stated the handle may not be the original, but should not effect the reel's value. That's how good this reel seems to be. Since then, it has been stored and not used. Rare 4 Screw Vintage ABU Ambassadeur No. 5000 Excellent Condition
ABU Ambassadeur No. 5000. Reelfoot# 291150 Rare Vintage Excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. A few small tiny scratches on top of side plates. None on bottom, a couple of rubs on right side plate, left side plate none. Chrome is mostly about 95% with a few small scratches on the cast control knobs. This 5000 is one of four other Ambassadeurs which will be on auc tion: a 1974-6500C.1977-2500C and a 1973-7000. All in excellent condition. I noticed some dust/lint that showed on the pictures looking like paint chips. There are a few scratches on the top of the side plates. As mentioned. Sales and shipping to only the USA. ABU Garcia Ambassadeur No. 5000. Reel foot# 291150. Four screw model. This reel is in excellent condition. A few very small dings. All parts are original and the reel has been recently professionally serviced. The only thing missing is the G sticker on the counter balance knob. The reel case is authentic and shows some wear on the inside but is much better than most for it's age. The case did not come with this reel but it's made for the 5000. It's in nice condition and compliments the reel. I believe it's leather. The oil. Wrench and tube with extra parts are authentic. Please feel free to ask questions.

This is a nice older ABU Ambassadeur 5000. Four screw bait casting reel with leather carrying case and oiler bottle and parts(paw, screws, hangers etc. The reel is stamped ABU Ambassadeur, 5000, AB. Urfabriken Svangsta, Sweden and heel is stamped 540085. Measures approx. 2 1/2" diameter and 2 1/2" across front face. This reel is in very good condition and shows some dings on top edges and some type of residue stain on upper side of right side plate and reel is in very good working condition. Up for auction is a nice used 4 screw Abu Ambassadeur Model 5000 baitcasting reel. It was made in Sweden and is so marked on the side plate. There is a serial number on the foot which is 169202. Shown in the photos. The reel is in decent cosmetic shape, but there is some rash on the top of both side plates and a bit, although less on the bottom. Mechanically, the reel is in good working order. The action is smooth and the release, level wind and star drag mechanisms all work fine. Vintage Ambassadeur 5000 "Mint Collector's Grade" Reel-ABU Garcia 4 Screw
Early 60's Mint condition Abu 4 screw. Before the shipping price scares you off its that price because I will be adding insurance for full winning bids price to protect both buyer and seller. This reel is in the best condition I have seen. It looks to have never been mounted on a rod. No marks on the part that connects to the rod. Over all the reel only has two blemishes on top. Looks like rub marks from rubbing in the box. Alone thing I have done was wipe fingers prints off with cloth. So you can see by the pictures there is no dirt or grime in any cracks. All this combined makes this a rare find. You can buy some cheaper but I know for a true collecter condition is everything. I will not be giving this reel away. I am going to be starting the bid out with a high reserve of 200 dollars. I will run the action for 3 weeks. After the 3 ... moreweeks are up I will think about lowering the price.
