Vintage Pflueger, AKRON,1893 Bait Casting Reel classic Green Handle saled
Hey. I've been fishing. I've even caught a fish or two, although never a keeper. But I never used anything fancy like the box of reels I found at an estate auction. Actually I never even put the bait on myself, too icky. One time I even did ice fishing.kind of. My boyfriend at the time told me to dress for fishing in February. So, I wore some good boots with a sexy heel, and my good leather coat. I was trying to look cute, what did I know about fishing. Well, we got to the lake and it was about 33 degrees outside. Lot of people were on the lake fishing. None of them were dressed like me. There was about 6" of slush on the ice but we were assured there was plenty of ice and to not worry. About 5 minutes into the adventure, slipping and sliding to get to our spot, I looked at the guy, freezing and wet all over and asked if we could ... moreplease go home. He laughed, questioned my story about being a fisher-person even though we had gone together during the summer and we left. There, did ice fishing! Check it off of my bucket list. So. This is a very cool looking fishing reel. I really like the green handles, looks like kitchen things to me. There is string on it. This is a Vintage Pflueger Akron Reel#1983. Condition: I really don't know how to determine condition. The item looks like it has been cleaned. Doesn't have the sticky feel of the others. I don't know if the green handles are distressed on purpose or if they're just distressed. It turns just fine and the string comes out easily enough. No chips or cracks in the unit. I don't clean these vintage items anymore because when I was brand new at this I ruined a very expensive piece trying to spiff it up. So.the dirt and dust is FREE. No charge at all. Condition is so often in the eyes of the beholder. I can believe that something is in terrible condition and you can think it's average. Vintage Pflueger No. 1893 Akron Engraved Jeweled Level Wind Casting Reel & Box
This is a vintage Pflueger No. 1893 Akron scarlet-jeweled. Quadruple multiplying, polished Diamolite level-wind, bait casting reel with anti-backlash in the original box. The reel is in excellent condition with nice engraving on the one side plate. The handle and level-wind move smoothly and the clicker is strong. The side plates are 2" in diameter. Rare vintage Pflueger casting reel Akron Model 1893
I have seen a lot of these fime Pflueger reels. But I haven't seen one as early or with the kind of engraving that this recently found reel has. There is engraving on the handle and on the body edge of the reel. The only thing it needs are to install two new/replacement handle covers as you can see from the pictures. There is great action on this reel and everything appears to be working very well. It's a nice old piece.

Vintage Pflueger Akron 1893 level wind fishing reel in an original 1893-L box with instruction manual and tags: This is as nice of a Pflueger Akron 1893 Fishing Reel as you will find. It has some metal patina on the non-handle side as shown in the picture. This comes in an Akron 1893-L box with the instructions manual and store tags. The box is in fair condition with oil. Dirt and some holes as shown. The instructions are fishing oil soaked as shown in the pictures but easily readable and not stuck together. The fishing reel is in good working condition. Some features include Level wind, anti-backlash and jeweled tension oil cup caps. This reel is constructed of quadruple multiplying polished diamolite. Good luck winning this for your collection! This is a vintage Pflueger Akron#1893 casting/fishing reel with cork arbor. This reel spins freely just one spin and the line spooler will go all of the way from one side to the other and then some. It dose need to be cleaned up and you can see in the photos that the handle is bent just a little. One half of the cork arbor is broken in half. Thanks for looking. Return. Vintage Pflueger Akron Casting Reel Model 1893 for bass & fresh water fishing
Up for auction is a recent estate find. This is a vintage Pflueger Akron Model 1893 made in the USA casting reel that has been used but is in excellent condition. There are a couple of scuffs and a little bit of rim rash from use but other than that it is as pictured( I tried to capture all angles in the pictures) The reel functions properly and is a nice clean reel to collect or use. There are 6 patent number listed on the side plate. The reel operates just fine. Take the clicker off and it rotates flawlessly, line guide works = nice old pre WWII collectible reel.
