Vintage Pflueger Akron Model 1894 Casting Reel from my father's(deceased since 1994) fishing supplies. This apparently was my uncle's fishing reel that my Dad kept for him. As he did for my uncle's other fishing supplies. My uncle lived a small apartment and didn't have much room to keep sporting equipment. I am guessing that this reel dates from the 1950's or earlier. My uncle only ever went fishing with my Dad or myself. And I never saw him use this reel. And I started fishing in the 1950's. In any case, I don't think it has been used much. The reel. Which has a small amount of some old casting line on it, appears to be in very good shape. It is fully functional. There is no rust. The auction includes the original box. A felt pouch to keep the reel in, and a set of directions. A couple edges of the box cover ... moreare partially torn. But the cardboard itself is in pretty good shape-still relatively stiff. I'm hoping someone might find a use for this reel. Either for fishing or to add to their collection of vintage reels. Thanks for considering.
