Up for bid is one vintage casting reel manufactured by SHAKESPEARE. Model No. 26, 100 YDS. STYLE 1960 CRITERION LEVEL-WINDING CASTING REEL. This reel is in very good condition. It measures 2-3/16" diameter, 3-5/8" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-1/2" long by 9/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot it has"MODEL 26, 100 YDS. PATENTED, MADE IN U.S.A. It has a 4:1 geared multiplier. The handle has a plastic Ivorine knobs. It has a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate rim, and drag control by rotating knurled bearing caps on the front& rear plates. The crank side is engraved with"CRITERION LEVEL-WINDING NO. 1960" and still on the front cover inside an oval"MADE IN KALAMAZOO, U.S.A. Shakespeare. Honor built. Honor sold" with fish logo. The nickel plated brass ... moreis in very good overall condition with some surface scratches(see photos) The reel is in poor working condition it that the level-wind mechanism hangs up and needs some wiggling to free it up. It travels freely for the most part, but hangs up at the ends when changing directions. It appears to have all its parts. It displays very well, but could not be used for fishing as is, unless the level-wind mechanism is corrected. It weighs 8.3 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 13 ounces. Up for Auction is this Shakespeare Criterion Deluxe Level Winding Reel Model GE w/Original Box. Paperwork, Wrench& Packaging. The Reel is like brand new. The only sign of any use can be seen in next to last picture where there is a slight wear mark from being mounted on a pole. It feels like a brand new reel, smooth, no grinding, the clicker works, everything is in perfect working order. The box shows signs of wear, but everything is there right down to the paper that the reel was wrapped in. This would make a great addition to any fisherman's reel collection, possibly mine if it doesn't sell quick. I'm selling it for a friend. The switch to either silent or clicking reel operation works well and there are no loose parts. It is ready to use if wanting to. I know on the hard plastic real handles look like the paint is coming off but that is how they were produced they are clear with black strips. Great casting reel.

Vintage Shakespeare 1960 Criterion casting reel Model GE for bass fishing
Up for auction is a recent estate find. This is a vintage Shakespeare 1960 Criterion Model GE. Made in the USA, casting reel that has been used( it's 50 years old) but is in excellent condition. There are a couple of scuffs and a scratch or two from use but other than that it is as pictured.The reel functions properly and is a nice clean reel to collect or use. All I did was clean the outside a bit for pictures( you can still see some of the grease on the outside of the reel) but it could use a thorough cleaning and lubrication. There is a"Made in USA Patented" stamped on the bottom of the reels. Good luck bidding on this nice collectible little casting reel. See my other auctions for more hunting. Shakespeare Criterion 1960 Model GE with Box ETC. Vintage Casting Reel Fishing
This reel appears to be in good shape with some wear. All functions seem to work also, all the knobs turn easily. It's been oiled and runs really smooth. The box has some wear, one of the sides is worn through on the box top, it still is fairly sturdy though. This also comes with the manual and wrench/tool. Pitting and some scratches( see pics) Made in the USA by Shakespeare Reel Company. Criterion 1960 Model GJ casting reel is a well made quality piece. Good reel with Chrome side plates. Level winder, drag adjust, and On/ Off clicker It needs some TLC and a good oiling because it is stiff to turn. I'm going to say it is for parts or repair. It may work fine. But I can only say it seems to work well. Measures about 2 1/8" diameter X 2 1/4" wide( 3 3.3+/4" wide with Handle) Thank you for looking. Please ask all questions before bidding.
