Shakespeare Service No 1944 Model HC w/ Box & Bag Vintage Casting Reel Fishing
This reel appears to be in good shape with some wear. All functions seem to work also, all the knobs turn easily. The reel has a great chrome finish. The leather thumb brake has a scratch in it. The pouch is a bit dirty but otherwise in fine shape. The box has been"blacked out" on one end with paint, but it's in decent shape structurally. See pics. The vintage reel was manufactured by the Shakespeare Company of Kalamazoo. Michigan. The reel features level line winding and is in working order. The item shows the typical wear including scratches, scuffs, dirt and grime. Further cleaning and lubricating would only enhance the beauty, appeal and smooth function of the fishing reel. The reel has an abundance of heavy test line already on the spool. The original sticker is still in place on the bottom foot. It reads. Shakespeare Wexford Wonder-Line. The colorful yellow plastic, possibly Bakelite, lever knobs are void of any apparent cracks or chips.
