Vintage Heddon PAL P-41 N (Narrow Spool) Reel
This is a vintage Heddon PAL P-41 N(Narrow Spool) So far all I haven't seen one ebay only the regular size spool. I Surfed around the internet only to find an article talking about the Narrow spool in a 1951 Sports Afield magazine stating the P-41N was outstanding for accuracy! It works and would need a little cleaning and it's still attached to it's original steel rod(I can't seem to detach it from the rod because of the operator. Me, I'll have to add a little more for shipping) if you want the rod also let me know. Domestic shipping only.

1947-1948 HEDDON "Pal" #P-41 Jeweled Level-Wind "Take-Apart" Casting Reel, *VF*
Up for auction a Very Nice 1947-1948 HEDDON No. P-41"PAL" JEWELED LEVEL-WIND"TAKE-APART" CASTING REEL. These were the first casting reels offered by James Heddon's Sons following the end of WWII. They were actually produced and supplied to Heddon by the Bronson Reel Co. of Bronson. Mich. Introduced in 1947, this"all-silver" model would only be available through 1948 or maybe early 1949, when it would be replaced by the more familiar black anodized version. Strangely, this all-silver model would never appear in any of Heddon's deluxe catalogs(1949-1959) yet would be pictured on every box for every version of the"Pal" sold throughout production. The only known listing for the all-silver P-41 is from the rare abbreviated 1947 Heddon catalog, which I've shown a photo of(courtesy of Bill Sonnett) ... moreThe tailplate reads"Heddon"Pal" near the top and"P-41" toward the bottom. Under the foot is stamped"PAT. APP. FOR- MADE IN U.S.A. A very lightweight model that comes equipped with strong clicker. Smooth level-wind, perfect jeweled oil caps, tension control, smooth operating anti-backlash control switch, lightweight aluminum spool with cork arbor, dual swirled plastic handle grips and an exclusive"take-apart" feature that allows the reel to be disassembled for servicing by simply removing the threaded head-ring by hand. The post-war"Pal" series of level-wind casting reels were James Heddon's Sons' most popular models and were actually supplied to Heddon as"trade" reels by the Bronson Reel Co. of Bronson. Mich. The No.P-41 was first introduced in 1947 and the No.P-41-L featherweight/tournament"Gold" version would show up four years later in 1951. However, this narrow spool"Gold Tournament" version. Designated the"NL" model in catalogs, wouldn't appear until 1957.
