vintage Wards Sport king model 22 fishing reel
Her we have a vintage wards' Sport King model 22. All the parts are here and it works good. The reel turns freely and the paw goes back and forth as it should with the exception of a small rough spot in the center. This reel has a small bail on the front where the line guide is worked back and forth by the paw. I have not seen one with feature before and i don't know what it's function is.The plastic on the handles is in good shape. The metal is not pitting but in the first stages of rusting or corroding in spots. The handle is sound but a little rusty. This is a different little reel with that extra bail. Up for your consideration is this excellent Wards Sport King No. 60-6326 Model 60 Fishing reel. Mechanically. The reel appears to be in excellent condition. The handle spins freely. The clicker is very strong and all the controls work correctly. Cosmetically. The real also appears to be in excellent condition. I found only 1 scratch on it in the marbleized plastic. Look at the pictures for details. I could not find any chips or cracks on it anywhere. It needs to be cleaned up which is to be expected for a reel of this age. I am not surprised that this reel is in excellent condition. It was owned by my father who was an avid fisherman. My father’s pieces of fishing equipment were like his children. He had a separate climate-controlled room in his home where he built several wall cabinets that consisted of small drawers with clear fronts. In ... moreeach of drawer he stored a treasure of some sort. His fishing equipment was stored in a designated section of these cabinets. This reel was stored in one of the drawers in the fishing equipment area. Vintage RARE Wards Sport King Model M3 Fishing Reel
This old Sport King reel is in great condition. I believe it was made for Wards by Ocean City, in the USA. The white in the pictures is glare, the chrome does shine, there is no white except for the handles. It is in good working order and all the controls seem to work. I have not attempted to clean or polish other than wiping it off with a damp wrap, so it still needs a good cleaning and lube. Did I mention this reel is in great condition? Beautiful Vintage Wards Sport King - Model 69 Casting Reel, Original Box
With it's classic emerald green handles and engraved jumping fish. This is one very cool casting reel. It appears as if it was either unused or used very little and extremely well taken care of. It comes with the original box which is in poor condition however I have displayed both the box and the reel in my vintage collection and both look great together.
