Up for bid is one vintage casting reel manufactured by South Bend. No. 550 LEVEL WINDING ANTI-BACK-LASH Model F CASTING REEL. This reel is in very good condition. It measures 2-3/16" diameter, 3-13/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-7/16" long by 9/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot it has"MADE IN U.S.A. PATENTED" It has a 4:1 geared multiplier. The handle has plastic handles. It has a clicker slide button on the rear plate, and a rotating knob on the front cover that controls the anti-back-lash. The crank side is engraved with"SOUTH BEND, QUALITY TACKEL, BAIT COMPANY" and still on the front plate near the bottom is engraved"No. 550, SOUTH BEND, ANTI-BACK-LASH, MODEL F" The chrome plated brass is in good overall condition with no brass showing. Vintage South Bend No.550 anti back lash reel with instructions, minty
Up for bidding in this listing is a vintage minty South Bend No.550 fishing reel with instructions and nice little plastic box. The box isn"t original to the reel and i say minty because the reel looks mint but i dont know for shure. There is a bit of yellowish oil ressidue around some of the screws and working parts that can be cleaned off, i figure the oil they used to lube it in the factory dried on it from sitting so long, i dont think the reel was ever used.

I have over a 100 vintage reels I will be listing over the next few days. So be sure to visit my store and check back as it will take me a few days. I also have over 50 reels listed on my brother's ebay account since he never keeps his full. You can find those under the user name.gobigorange2014. If you find any on that user name and in my store you want to buy, PLEASE let me know if you purchase from both sites so I can ship them together. All of these reels was from an estate sale I attended where this man had over 400 reels he had collected. I test these reels by turning the crank, clicking whatever buttons are on them to see if everything works. I'll point out anything I see missing or strange sounds or if they simple don't work. You need to look closely at the pics to judge their condition for yourself. All the reels have ... morelisted are used and have all the signs of a used reel. Be sure to ask any questions before purchasing them. I do my best to describe them as correctly as I can. I gain nothing from you getting a reel and not happy with it, so I don't hide anything in my pics or description. If you look at my auctions you will see, I take all my pics of every reel from the exact same angles. I do fish but I don't collect or use these reels so I have no way of knowing if everything on them is what belongs or what was originally on them. If there are no notes added to this description, then you can assume that I have checked the real and as far as I can test it, it works as it should.
