For your consideration an Antique JA Coxe Levelwind Baitcaster Vintage Fishing Reel First Model 25 ca.1939 Antique Tackle Box Find in Deadwood.SD! Reel is fully functional and operates smoothly. Collectible and functional, and a MUST HAVE for the reel collector. This reel was the flagship for the Bronson Reel Company. It made it's first appearance in the 1939 Field and Stream catalog. It was their most expensive reel. And modifications were made quickly resulting in Models 25-C, 25-2 etc. This reel was manufactured for less than 2 years and prior to the war effort. The branding of the"JA Coxe" label was poorly done. And the design company fired for the problems in reading the name. Vintage JA Coxe Model 420 L - 200 Yds Casting Fishing Reel Star Drag Made in USA
We have a vintage J A COXE fishing reel. Casting model 420 L, 200 yard capacity, made in Bronson, Michigan, USA. Patent Appl For. The reel functions great, it has a good solid click, a star drag, and it's a heavy, well made reel. The reel is complete and ready to use. Cosmetically, it is missing quite a bit of chrome and the screws have a little damage from adjustments. The handle is good and the bakelite knob has no damage or cracks. I tried to show in the photos the condition and the camera actually accentuates the flaws. Both side plates are probably bakelite and are in good condition with no cracks. I think the metal is chrome plated brass, it's fairly heavy and very solid. Feel free to email for additional info or photo. Vintage JA Coxe Invader 26 Fishing Reel, Tough Find, Nice!
Here is the Bronson made JA Coxe Invader 26. This is a highly collectible and very sought after reel! The Bronson version of the Invader 26 and the JA Coxe version are basically the same reel. Except for the name. This particular reel is in very nice condition with the red anodized head and tail plate. It has the nice ivory colored beauty spacers, black spool, black level wind guard, and black crank handle. This reel functions as it should along with the free-spool button, drag, and click. It shows some typical light wear on the red-anodized finish and on the chrome plates on sides of the reel. Overall it is very beautiful and hard to find the Coxe version. Vintage JA Coxe Model 65C With Box Bag Instructions Beautiful Reel
Up for auction is a beautiful J A Coxe Model 65C DO- ALL REEL. The reel functions as it should and is in excellent condition. All the metal is clean and shows no corrosion. For those who are not familiar with the 65c. It has a star drag system, a free spool feature and clicker. It holds about 150 yards of line, all metal frame, three piece construction and a quick easy take a part reel. The reel has been stored in a felt bag inside the box. There is a set of owners instructions included. The box does show some wear. Please take a look at pics and ask questions prior to bidding. PayPal is the preferred method of payment. You are bidding on a nice example of a vintage JA Coxe reel that is marked on the bottom of the foot: JA Coxe Reel Co. Bronson, Michigan, Model#130, 250 yds. The reel is in excellent condition. Cranks very smoothly with a good strong click and drag system. Cosmetically, I would rate the reel a 7 1/2, as it does have rashing to the spool and top of the foot. This is a no reserve auction.
