Vintage Shakespeare 1965 Professional Model FK (circa 1951) Fishing Reel (NICE)
Up for your consideration is a Shakespeare 1965 Professional fishing reel in excellant condition. It is Model FK(circa 1951) and is stamped so on the tail plate along with the name and Nickel Silver. It has solid spool end caps and a loud clicker which is on the side of the tail plate. There is a drag adjustment knob on the head plate. It spins very freely. The handles and spacers are in excellant shape with no cracks. Very shiny, and are a creamy yellow tone. Nice old reel in excellant condition for it's 61 year age. Good Used Shakespeare Triumph 1958 Model FK Casting Fishing Reel-Works Just Fine
I find nothing functionally wrong with it at all. It has some very light soil and some very light boat rash that is hard to see. It could probably use a good lube job. One of the knobs on the handle has some damage and is hard to spin. see Photos) I see no screwdriver marks in any of the screws. PLEASE NOTE: I do not take reels apart for any reason before selling them. I make no attempts to doctor them before selling. You get it just as I did. I have been known to use a dry paint brush or a damp rag to remove surface soil. I have also been known to peek under the spool of a spinning reel or under the spool cover of a spincasting reel to remove any undesirable debris. I’ll let the photos say the rest.
