Vintage old Pflueger Capitol No. 1985 surf casting s altwater fishing reel Made USA Selling as repair or parts. I will try to explain the reel to the best of my knowledge and provide pictures for your inspection. So please look at pictures carefully. Reel has not been dissemble or cleaned. No missing parts. Turns freely. Spool release lock works. When reeled it releases and the anti-reverse kicks in. Star drag works. The clicker is very stiff. The reel has some salt water oxidation but can be removed if soaked in vinegar and water for about an hour. Other than that reel is fair condition. It is worth saving. An as-is Auction.

Vintage Pflueger Capitol No.1985 fishing reel *box & paperwork only
Up for sale is the box and paperwork to a Pflueger Capitol No.1985. Surf casting fishing reel. It also comes with the original reel wrench and washers. The last two#s of the stamp on the bottom of the box are 55. Which I believe indicates the box is it is from the year 1955. It also bares the original Long's Drugs price tag of $12.39. It has the Line Capacity Chart on the top of the box and the Plueger badge on the side. The box is in very good shape and is still very sturdy. It does show a little wear to a couple of the corners(see all 12 pics) The paperwork is also in very good shape except for one small hole/tear to the bottom of the 1st page. The wrench is like new& the washers are still sealed in the original envelope. If you have this reel and need a box in very good condition, here it is. Vintage Pflueger Capitol No. 1988 Surf Casting Reel, 1960s era
Up for bid is the surf casting reel that I used growing up in Northern California in the 50s. It is a Pflueger Capitol No. 1988 star drag surf casting reel I found this in the garage when I was cleaning out my mom's house. The reel is used and has some surface salt water corrosion. Here is a vintage Pflueger Capitol reel. This reel is used and has some dirt and grease on it but really don't see any rust. Vintage Pflueger Capitol 1788 open face fishing reel NICE!
This is an American made Pflueger Capitol model 1788 open face salt water fishing reel in very good shape. This real dates to the early-mid 1960s. Reel is in very good condition. With some light scratches and wear(no rust) but with full functionality. Crank knob is tight. I would grade this reel as A8/M9 or better, although please remember that such grading is rather subjective. There is still line on the reel which I will leave on. Ready for your collection!

Outstanding Pflueger No.1985 Capitol Surf Casting Reel w/Box, Tools, Tags, Line
This high quality vintage reel is in excellent condition. Lightly fished if at all. It has a star drag and a take apart knob on the head plate. The tail plate is Bakelite and has a strong on/off click button. The head plate is polished Diamolite on nickel silver. The rim of the head plate has a free spool push button. The mottled brown torpedo handle was introduced after 1939. The spool is loaded with a braided linen line in good condition, unknown test. You also get the original box in good condition, an instructional pamphlet, a hang tag for the Pflueger"New Capitol" reel, an envelope with extra washers and two Pflueger wrenches. This is the whole collectible package.
