Vintage PFLUEGER TEMCO fishing reel, free spool, surf-casting, bull dog, NR
Available is a vintage Pflueger Temco fishing reel. The reel is stamped"free spool. surf-casting" and contains the bull dog logo. The reel has the leather thumb flap and is marked with patent no. 1.450,738; 1,559,496; 1,608,287. The metal parts have a very nice vintage patina color to them and there is some very slight surface corrosion here and there on the metal parts(more on the pillars and spool than on the end pieces) The reel has a very nice and audible click when put into that mode of operation. Overall, in fairly good condition and nothing unusual or unexpected. Reel is being sold as-is with no warranty either expressed or implied. Vintage Pflueger fishing reel - Oceanic free spool surf casting - made in USA
This reel is in working condition. The lever on the handle side disengages the spool from the handle. The clicker button is on the other side and works as it should. The handle and spool turn smoothly and freely. The No. 250 is stamped on the rod rest. The sides of the reel are some sort of plastic, probably bakelite, it looks af if the reel was either dropped or hit on the side where the piece is missing, there is a slight bend toward the inside. The reel is just as I received it, a cleaning would probably improve the looks. When you receive this reel. This antique Pflueger fishing reel has a bull dog trade mark. Oceanic Free Spool Surf Casting reel is made in the USA. I believe it to be from the early 1900's. It has all kinds of pat. numbers on it and works well. This is a 300, stamped on the bottom of the reel, still has its leather and it's flexible. It has a wood handle grip and a magnet does not stick to it so I believe it to be brass- you people know better than I do. NO RESERVE so good luck bidding and ask any questions. Crown saltwater/ ocean reel. By Fishing Tackle Works in Philadelphia. Takes 300 yds of line. It has braided line, which could be original. I don't believe this one is made of brass but sort of looks like it was. It does show a decent amount of wear and still has some"fishing gunk" which can be cleaned off easily. Three is some tarnish but I saw no pitting. Operationally this one is a real strong spinner. It is a finely constructed reel and would make a nice addition to anyone's collection.

This one is old. Shows corrosion in pics, but I've left it"as is" just for the true collector to clean up his/her way. The last picture shows the result of a bit of steel wool on one spot of the same corrosion.it comes off pretty easily. You can see that bright spot in the 6th picture also.
