It comes in it's own leather case that is marked South Bend Quality Tackle Bait Company on the front snap shut cover. And the bottom is marked"Stone" with a nice decorative scroll. Up for bid is one vintage casting reel manufactured by BRONSON. Model Belmont No. 3123500 LEVEL WINDING ANTI-BACK-LASH CASTING REEL. This reel is in good condition. It measures 2-1/4" diameter, 3-15/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-1/2" long by 9/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot it has"PAT. APP. FOR, MADE IN U.S.A. 37" It has a 3.5:1 geared multiplier. The handle has plastic knobs. It has a clicker slide button on the rear plate, and a rotating knob on the front cover that controls the anti-back-lash. The crank side is engraved with"Belmont NO. 3123500" The nickel plated brass is in good overall condition with some brass showing on the top of the front cover. It is possible the plating is chrome, not nickel. It has jeweled bearing caps in good condition. The reel is in good ... moreworking condition. There is some looseness of the handle that appears to be from the nut that fastens the handle not being original. The Belmont reels were marketed by Sears in the 40s into the 50s. Vintage. Oreno Level Winding Anti-Back-Lash Casting Reel, No 1000B South Bend Bait Company- Quality Tackle Comes from the collection of an elderly fisherman- loved his fishing! Seems to be in good working condition but I am not a reel expert(no pun intended: I'll do my best to describe it- let me know if I've neglected to mention something. Winder spins fine and the nub on the one side slides fine- there is still line in it but you'll have to decide if it's worth keeping. It is still shiny but with use marks like light scratches and rub marks. There are two knobs that seem like they should turn but are stuck? not sure if they just need oiled or maybe they aren't supposed to turn? Up for auction is a vintage 1931 Super South Bend Level Winding Anti Back Lash# 1300. Seems to work and is smooth. I am certain it would need to be cleaned and oiled to get it in perfect shape. Only know it's 1931 is because during my search to find one. An ad popped up with this one in it from 1931. It's original cost then was over $36.00. Plastic rollers are in good shape.
