Pre-1910 Vintage MEISSELBACH TRIPART Casting Reel - Single Ring - Scarce
Meisselbach Tripart reel. Featuring nickel silver plated brass construction, counter balanced handle, back plate mounted clicker, and back plate swaged to the tube. According to Phil White's Meisselbach and Meisselbach-Catucci Fishing Reels book, this reel dates to the 1907-08 time frame. Reel is simply marked Tri-Part on the face plate. The back plate is marked Patents- Nov. 15'04- Dec. 27'04- June 20'05- Mar. 5'07. The bottom of the foot is marked A.F. Meisselbach& Bro. Newark, N.J. 80 Yards. Reel shows some wear from use as seen in the pics. Mechanically excellent with super smooth action and a strong clicker. A scarce Meisselbach reel. The Faceplate is stamped"Tripart" 582" While the tail-plate carries the Patent dates" PATENTS NOV. 15. 04, DEC. 27, 04, JUNE 20, 05, MARCH 5. 07, AUG. 3, 09" Under the foot is stamped"A.F. Meisselbach Mfg. Co. ELYRIA, O, U.S.A. 80 YARDS" Comes equipped with tubular frame construction. Tailplate-mounted clicker, tension control, handle with pyralin knobs and a complete"Takapart" function that allows to reel to be completely disassembled for servicing by just unscrewing the endplate ring by hand. Reel is in very good working condition and appears lightly used. Meisselbach No.580 ONE RING Tripart 80 Yard Reel W/ BOX Circa 1907-08 Vintage
You are bidding on a Meisselbach One Ring Tri-part 580 an 80 yard reel with box. This is an early reel and box from 1907-08. The name Tri-Part is hyphenated on both the reel and box. The last patent date is 1907 and the bearing cap on the tail plate is all chrome instead of having a brass center as the later reels do. Unfortunately a mouse chewed on the lid of the box( glad it just chewed on the box and didn't do anything else) and someone scratched something on the tail plate, can't make it all out just 400. VINTAGE MEISSELBACH TRIPART NO.580 NICHLE PLATED BRASS CASTING REEL
A great condition TRIPART NO.580 by the A F. MEISSELBACH CO. NEWARK NEW JERSY USA. 80 YARDS printed on the bottom looks like a nichle plated brass reel in great working condition and lite scratches from use bringing out the brass color with a strong clicker and decorative ivory type handle and decorative ingraved rims. A great reel for any collector.
