PATENTED" It has a 4:1 geared multiplier. The handle has plastic handles. It has a clicker slide button on the rear plate, and a rotating knob also on the rear plate that controls the anti-back-lash/drag. The crank side is engraved with"SOUTH BEND, QUALITY TACKEL, BAIT COMPANY" and"No. 45, ORENO LEVEL WINDING" The nickel plated brass is in good overall condition with some brass showing on the rims, and on the inside edge of the rear plate where there is an area of corrosion(see photo) There are jeweled bearing caps front and rear in good condition. It is still shiny but with use marks like light scratches and rub marks. Only know it's 1931 is because during my search to find one. An ad popped up with this one in it from 1931. It's original cost then was over $36.00. Plastic rollers are in good shape.
