There's very minimal scratching or nicking on the actual plates. The edges of the plates show light tackle box wear small micro nicking's. The grooves on the head plate have general soiling and general use scratches and nicks. Soiling on inside of level wind cover. Both light blue handle knobs in very fine shape with general aging. You are bidding on a vintage Sport King Model 63 Level Wind Bait Casting Reel. Distributed by Montgomery Ward these old reels were manufactured by other brand name companies and sold under the Sport King name. Mechanically the reel is in good condition. The line guide moves freely. The handle turn smoothly, the clicker is strong, the star drag is easily adjustable and the free spool lever is smooth and fully functional. Cosmetically the reel has some oxidation on the spool and cross supports and a small chip out of the bottom of one of the side plates. The reel still has a lot of fishing left in it. Either for larger fresh water fish or for lighter salt water fish. Beautiful Vintage Wards Sport King - Model 69 Casting Reel, Original Box
With it's classic emerald green handles and engraved jumping fish. This is one very cool casting reel. It appears as if it was either unused or used very little and extremely well taken care of. It comes with the original box which is in poor condition however I have displayed both the box and the reel in my vintage collection and both look great together.
