Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel Basket w/ Tackle This is a very nice fishing basket and all the gear pictured comes with it. It measures: 9" high x 11" wide x 6 1/4" deep. It is in very good condition. Solid& sturdy. The basket closure strap is a fish head& body. The head has'PAT 66289' on it. There are a few broken strands/connectors. That hold the lid on to its rim, see pictures. Also a few broken strands/connectors. On the basket part, holding the basket to the rim. The 2 leather straps holding the lid to the basket are good. The basket weveing is very tight and strong. It comes with leather straps and metal closer works well. Tail is off fish body but is included. As is all the tackle pictured. This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. The top flap of the basket does have a measuring ruled on the leather. Please check out the photos, I have take a lot to capture all the wear on this basket. Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

this old fishing basket is 14 1/2" wide at the bottom and 8" high. It looks very old and has some hand sewing on it. On the leather. There are snaps on the pocket pouch. The shoulder strap is missing, and there is just one leather loop at the back. It is in need of leather polish, as it is stiff and was hard to get the lid down. There is some wear on it as you can see in my photos. But it would look nice as decoration, maybe with a plant in it? This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. The shoulder strap is missing, the leather handle is there, but torn some from the basket.It was hard to strap closed, due to stiffness and part of the strap missing. It's in need of leather oil. It stands about 8 ½” tall x 13” wide at the bottom and 10” wide at the top x 5 ½” front to back. Lid has an opening for fish. Opening measures about 1 ¾” wide x 2 ¼” The creel latch is a decorative. Unique fish design consisting of a head, middle and tail made of metal(magnetic) joined by leather. The ring turn buckle, backed by a leather multi-pointed disc, is non-magnetic and might be brass. The latch is fully functional. The wicker is near perfect although old and likely brittle. The lid hinge which was also wicker has been repaired with some sort of strong twine. This creel also comes with it’s original leather and cloth ... moreshoulder strap. The leather is still somewhat flexible and the cloth strap shows little wear or damage. The wicker is I believe split willow and in the French weave from the 1920's it is in nice shape as is the strapping and the bindings. Antique CREEL Wicker & Leather Fly Fishing Basket w/ Strap, 18 x 6" x 11", Decor
Totally awesome vintage fishing creel. Is in great shape for its probable age. It has no labels or makers marks. The straps are broken. The woven basket is fully intact. It measures approx. 18.5" wide. 6" deep, and 11.5" high. The lid measures 13" x 10.5" It has an awesome used, worn wooden peg to secure the lid and wire for the loop to hold the peg. Vintage Antique Fishing Creel leather wicker Trout Kreel Adirondack Pack Basket
I don't know anything about creels. So please use the pictures as the description. I bought this at an estate sale in Vermont, it had been hanging in a barn, the leather strap is a bit dry feeling, but the basket is in great shape with the exception of one piece that holds the lid is broken and replaced with a cable tie; the weave reminds me of an Adirondack pack basket. Up for bid is a Vintage Fly Fishing Creel with Original Straps. It has a wicker woven basket with a leather front pouch. It is in used but condition with scratches. Scrapes and other wear consistent with age. The leather is dry& needs reconditioning. The straps to the buckles need to be replaced. The top lid needs stitching in a couple of areas. Antique CREEL Wicker & Leather Fly Fishing Basket w/ Strap, 9" x 18" x 12"
How adorable is this? This is a cool fly fishing creel/ basket. If you are a fisherman or know one they are going to love this piece of fishing history. This basket/ creel has a nice tight weave and is in really great shape. It could use a cleaning. But I am leaving that up to the buyer. On the front it has this adorable wood fish as a closure. The leather strap on the lid wraps around the fish to close it. This creel/ basket measures 9" tall18" across the front12" across the back, and the strap is nylon and adjustable to fit your needs. All of the wicker is in place and there are no holes. There of course is the hole in the lid designed to hold your pole. Thanks for looking:0)
