Vintage George Lawrence Co. Fishing Creel, Leather and Wicker
This is a Vintage George Lawrence Co. Fishing Creel. It is made out of leather and wicker and is in great condition for its age. It is approx. 14" X 11" X 9" and has a leather buckle closure with front pocket that snaps shut(both the buckle and the snaps work and are in good condition) The handle strap is broken(see photo#2 and#10) and there is a one inch tear in the leather on the back(see photo#11) there is also no shoulder strap.The metal name plate on the front says"The George Lawrence Co. Established in 1857 Portland OR" see photo#12) This is a fantastic vintage hard to find creel.

Beautiful George Lawrence Tillamook Leather Bound Fishing Creel
This auction is for a fine early George Lawrence Split Willow Wicker Tillamook creel. Trimmed with decorative hand tooled leather. The design is a square rope pattern. The basket measures 15” across base. 9” tall at rear, slanted bottom is 8” deep at back and 6" deep at the front, straight back, forward tapering hinged opening lid with side slot, fish measure stamped to rear hinge. George Lawrence metal plaque is attached to front external tackle wallet/pocket with stud fastening. There are small slits on each side of the pocket to assist with the snap closures. Comes with shoulder strap with wool padding(see pictures for condition) Front strap is missing but buckle is intact. Please see pictures for specific details on the overall condition of the creel. It's a great piece just the way it is or could be redone. Leather still looks great in areas and the wicker is still strong. Leather still smells like leather! Here's an Excellent Clean George Lawrence Tillamook Model 4AP leathered pocket model split willow basket creel. These Tillamook creels were introduced in a flyer circulated by Lawrence in 1931. The basket has only one small break of a wrap on the board on the bottom but is otherwise flawless and has a nice patina. It's solid and sound and the leather is in excellent shape and is nice an flexible and is all original. It's leathered with cow hide leather and embossed with the standard square rope tooling that appeared on most Supreme and Tillamook model Lawrence creels. It includes a complete. Marked, 6 Lawrence DeLuxe tooled cow hide leather shoulder strap. This is about 15 inches wide and has a flat back as most all of these early Tillamook model creels did. This is a very interesting and unique creel. Someone has taken a high quality 1/2 leather top split willow basket creel and added a George Lawrence pocket on the front of it. This is not a George Lawrence creel but is a really interesting a functional hybrid. The creel is leathered with cow hide leather. The basket has no breaks and the leather is all in good shape. The basket is 15 inches wide at the widest point and has a curved back to fit the hip. It comes with a complete model 1 1/2 George Lawrence shoulder strap. The creel was made about 1935 or so and the pocket added later. Would make a great creel for someones collection or could still be used I've been collecting creels for years and just recently realized I'm totally out of space to display them. Here's an Excellent clean George Lawrence Model 3D Hazel Dell leathered split willow basket creel. These Lawrence Hazel Dell creels were only made in the late 20's and early 30's and are quite rare The basket on this one has no breakage(essentially flawless) and has a nice patina. It even still has the original basket maker's label on it having survived the Lawrence leathering process. It's solid and sound and the leather is nice and clean and flexible all around. I suspect this was never used! It's leathered with cow hide leather and has the Lawrence metal ID tag on the front. The creel comes with a complete Lawrence model 1 1/2 tooled cow hide leather shoulder strap. It's very unlikely you could ever find a nicer of these Hazel Dell creels to fit into your collection. Vintage George Lawrence Co. Portland, Oregon Model 5A Split Willow Fishing Creel
Offered for auction is this vintage George Lawrence Co. Portland, Oregon Model 5A split willow fishing creel. The old fellow from whom I bought the creel told me that there had been a lot of fish in this creel over the years. There are some holes in the bottom of the creel(see 8th photo) and there are some breaks in the willow in the sides and top. The strap and buckle to latch the lid are missing. There is what looks liked dried glue in some areas around the hole in the lid. The harness has been replaced. I will be happy to combine multiple purchases for shipping when possible. Vintage George Lawrence ? Fishing Creel w/ Crest Mfg Ohio Aluminum Tackle Box
Hello Collectors- Up for auction is a really neat Vintage fishing creel. Although the basket isn't marked I believe it is attributed to George Lawrence, the scarce tackle box top was made by Crest mfg. of Ohio. It isn't perfect, it could use a new strap, some minor wicker loss, it has the tight weaving you look for in a quality creel. It is 16 inches long and 7 inches wide and about 10.5 inches high, the tackle box holds a lot of flies, the pictures will give you a good idea of what it will hold. The green crap on the plate comes off with you finger but I will leave that to the new owner. Also comes with original strap that is also in good shape. NICE CLEAN GEORGE LAWRENCE SUPREME MODEL 3A SPLIT WILLOW BASKET CREEL
Here's a nice clean George Lawrence Supreme Model 3A leathered split willow basket creel. Prior to 1931 these Supreme model creels were marked 2.3,4,5,6, 7 for the 13 through 18 inch creels respectively. In 1931 they added an"A" so that this creel was made in 1931 or later. Judging by the basket and the construction on this creel I would say it was made post war. Maybe 1950 or so. The basket has only a couple of minor breaks and retains most of it's original brown stain. Many of these creels were made to order and you could choose from various colors of basket(natural, red, brown, green, and even blue) It's solid and sound and the leather is in nice clean shape and is nice an flexible. It's leathered with cow hide leather and embossed with the standard square rope tooling that appeared on most Supreme and Tillamook ... moremodel Lawrence creels. This auction is for a Rare Supreme vintage split willow and leather fishing basket creel by George Lawrence Co. The front metal plate reads: The George Lawrence Co. Established 1857. Portland Oregon. The creel is marked 5A on the half leather covered lid for a 30 pound capacity creel. Across the top back edge of the lid. The tooled leather has an eleven inch ruler. The leather lid and middle strap has the Supreme tooled design. The creel is made of tightly woven split willow aka fine French weave and quality saddle leather with embossed interlocking pattern. It has a leather hand strap on back. The creel measures 16" long, 6 1/4" deep, 9 1/2" back height and 8" front height. Harnesses were after market purchases ... moreas an accessory item and this creel was not found with a harness. The creel is in very good condition. The tightly woven willow is intact with no breakage and the leather has minor grazing which adds character. The lid opens and closes fine. The front buckle is separated from the front. The buckle strap is held in place with a nut/bolt. The photos show exactly what you're getting. This is truly a rare find! Highly collectible it will make an excellent addition to your collection.
