Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

This is a Vintage George Lawrence Co. Fishing Creel. It is made out of leather and wicker and is in great condition for its age. It is approx. 14" X 11" X 9" and has a leather buckle closure with front pocket that snaps shut(both the buckle and the snaps work and are in good condition) The handle strap is broken(see photo#2 and#10) and there is a one inch tear in the leather on the back(see photo#11) there is also no shoulder strap.The metal name plate on the front says"The George Lawrence Co. Fabulous vintage fishing creel in excellent condition. It has a tooled leather shoulder strap with lambswool underneath. The wick and leather trim is all in great shape. The buckles on all the straps work great. The rivets and all the stitching looks solid. This handsome basket would work as a display piece or use it for fishing! Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel Basket w/ Tackle This is a very nice fishing basket and all the gear pictured comes with it. It measures: 9" high x 11" wide x 6 1/4" deep. It is in very good condition. Solid& sturdy. The basket closure strap is a fish head& body. The head has'PAT 66289' on it. There are a few broken strands/connectors. That hold the lid on to its rim, see pictures. Also a few broken strands/connectors. On the basket part, holding the basket to the rim. The 2 leather straps holding the lid to the basket are good. The basket weveing is very tight and strong. It comes with leather straps and metal closer works well. Tail is off fish body but is included. As is all the tackle pictured. Beautiful George Lawrence Tillamook Leather Bound Fishing Creel
This auction is for a fine early George Lawrence Split Willow Wicker Tillamook creel. Trimmed with decorative hand tooled leather. The design is a square rope pattern. The basket measures 15” across base. 9” tall at rear, slanted bottom is 8” deep at back and 6" deep at the front, straight back, forward tapering hinged opening lid with side slot, fish measure stamped to rear hinge. George Lawrence metal plaque is attached to front external tackle wallet/pocket with stud fastening. There are small slits on each side of the pocket to assist with the snap closures. good shape. Nothing missing, all leather is supple with the exception of the buckle to close the basket. when I was getting the basket ready to sell I broke that piece. I don't know why that is brittle, the basket has never been in the sun since I have had it. there are wear marks on the back bottom both sides as you can see in the pis. the basket is 10' tall 15' wide, the engraved ruler can't be seen in the pics I did try but i'ts very viasble. thanks, sindy down sizing because health.

This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. This is a very nice looking. Vintage, fishing creel made of wicker with leather trim and decoration sewn onto the basket. There is a green. Cloth, web strap that is fixed to more leather strapping. It measures about 14" by 5" at the base and 12" by6" at the top. The highest stance is about 8.5" tall. Condition: The wicker is in very nice shape with no breaks or damage. The cloth strap is in very good shape with no tears. The metal rings and buckles all have rust and corrosion. The leather is very dry and shows wear. The thin strap is broken. The belt strap is also broken. The front strap has broken off and is missing. The leather lid trim has broken/missing piece on the corner. Overall. It is barn fresh and could use a good cleaning. Vintage H.J. Collis Fishing Creel made in USA of canvas and leather with some man made vinyl/fabric edging. 17" long and about 11.5" tall at the tallest part. There is a main compartment and also two pockets that the top flap closes over and snaps onto.The top flap has a 12" ruler printed on it and above the ruler is a small"3Z" A brass zipper on top that is in good shape.Many metal grommets in the bag body that are in very good condition. There is some of the vinyl type edging that has lost some of it's finish. It's still intact but the shiny surface is flaking off. I am offering an antique(1920s- 1930s) McMonies. Portland, Oregon, fishing creel strap. This is the number 6 or the number 9. I am not sure of how to read the number stamped on the strap. The leather strap is impressed with a design and is flexible but needs cleaning. The creel measures approximately ten inches tall; 13 inches across the front; and 7 1/2 inches wide. This piece has amazing patina if you are purchasing for a display piece! The inside still has dried mud on the wicker from being used as an actual creel.
