The basket ... moreis primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. The top flap of the basket does have a measuring ruled on the leather. Please check out the photos, I have take a lot to capture all the wear on this basket. It measures approximately 8 ½ inches on the back center and the bottom is 15 x 5 inches. It has the wear and character of a vintage used creel. The interior has evidence that it at one time carried fish. There are no tears in the leather or holes in the wicker. The leather is dry. The strap is tooled leather with what I believe are brass hardware. The clip is marked with an impressed anchor. The strap appears to be much newer than the creel. The floral tooled shoulder strap is nicely done. The rule on the lid is faded. The overall condition is very nice but the leather could use some leather conditioning. Everything is intact and functions. The measurements are approximately 14” wide at base by 8-1/2” highest point by 7” deep including front pouch.
