Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

From an estate sale of fishing items and all were from the 30s& 40s. We offer this rare creel basket. In good condition, opens with ease, no missing parts and does show that it was used at one time. Two handles, metal hinge, and metal chains. Bamboo and fishing net. Measures about 13 by 6 inches folded up. 10 inch diameter when open. Not sure of the origin as there are no markings on the creel. Rare Pennsylvania Vintage Woven White Oak Trout Fishing Creel
Up for bid is a nice small Pennsylvania made white oak trout creel. The lid is 11 1/2" x 5 1/2" at the longest and widest points. The hole is 2" x 1 3/4" It was made by the Clearfield Sporting Goods Co. Clearfield, Pa. and it's my understanding that they were in business for decades and went out of business in the 1950's.It has a piece of veneer missing from the lid and its wired in one spot shown in pic 6 where the strap goes through and the left hinge right above it is worn through. Other than that its in really nice shape for its age. I couldn't find any like this one when I was researching it. The second is the leather hinges are of two colors- one light and one dark brown- They appear to be original and may have been a signature feature of the craftsman- not sure. Nice vintage 10" wood woven basket possible fish creel gather trap lid RARE
YOU ARE BUYING possibly a one of a kind basket. It is woven with varying sizes of thin wood. Great detail, even appears to have the original twisted bark handle. The actual use of this basket is unknown. However, due to the trap mechanism see photo 9, it appears it was for life creatures. It could have been for butterflies, all I know. Maybe fish, small chicks, whatever it was made and used for the individual did not want the catch to get away. Truly a priceless item here. Basket is in great condition with very minor breaks in small twigs, I only see one, others are the ends to the rounding at neck of basket. Vintage very rare 1950s Orvis wicker fishing creel
Up for bids with no reserve A very rare vintage Orvis wicker creel. It is in remarkable condition for its age. The original leather straps are not dried out and stiff like on most old creels. The straps are still supple and very usable. The back strap is full length for over the sholder use. The front strap and buckle work like new. This creel has not had much use and has not been stored in a damp basement or hot attic. It is a center hole as was used at the turn of the century. It is referred to as an Orvis because it was made exclusively for Orvis Sporting Goods in Vermont. It appears in the book"The Art of the Creel. It is 14 inches wide 8 1/2 inches high and 6 1/2 inches deep. It was made in the 1950s. The beautiful woven"Overlap" top lid is what makes it so distintive and rare. RARE VINTAGE ANTIQUE VERY OLD FISHING CREEL LEATHER FABRIC STRAPS COLLECTOR ITEM
This is a willow fishing creel used by my grandfather in the early 1900's. The willow basket is pretty much intact except that the back where the lid is fastened is very fragile. The leather and fabric straps are in poor condition. The clasp is complete but has come off the basket. I looks like it could easily be repaired. It looks like the leather has come undone on one of the sides(see photo 6 and 7) The creel is quite dirty(dusty) from being stored in a garage for 60 or 70 years or more. But I have tried to clean it up a bit. It would be good for any collector of antique fishing memorabilia. The creel is 12 inches wide. 9 inches high and about 6 1/2 inches deep. RARE Vintage Turtle Trade Mark Fishing Creel
Up for auction is this rare vintage Turtle Trade Mark fishing creel. The creel is in pretty good condition. Shows some minor wear as you can see in the photos but all in all a nice piece. The creel looks like it has the original strap, the ruler is still attached to the top, all 4 hinges are in good working condition a little stiff though, turtle is really nice. The creel is about 14" long and almost 8" tall at the back, the bottom shows some wear as you can see in the photos and there is a piece broken by the opening on the top which is in the pictures. Wonderful rare vintage(circa early 1900s) galvanized zinc metal fishing creel from France with bale wire and wood handle. Original green paint shows age and use; no dents. Hinged lid has a metal tab that slides open to view your catch without opening the lid. Ideal for using in the fisherman's boat to hold the catch of fish. Lid has holes for air to circulate(fish can be stinky) Latch to lock the lid tightly. A fun French collectible for a shelf or table; fill with potpourri and the aroma will escape thru the lid. Rare Large Oval Shaped Vintage French Galvanized Zinc Fishing Bucket with Handle
Found at a flea market(brocante) in France. A very old/vintage galvanzied zinc French fish carrier, circa early to mid- 1900s. Seamed construction with a"footed" bottom(rim) to keep it off the ground and rust-free. Attached handle. Water tight with no rusting; no dents. Wonderful aged patina. Was used by fisherman to kep their catch fresh. The top of the oval-shpaed bucket has a smaller basket with handle that creates a lid and provides air to the fresh catch of the day. Live bait was usually kept in the basket for quick access while fishing. This charming and rare bucket measures 10 inches tall; oval base measures 9.75 inches by 7.25 inches. The oval opening at the top measures 6.5 inches by 4.5 inches. Great item for the fisherman in your family! Will be shipped within the USA only.

This auction is for a Rare Supreme vintage split willow and leather fishing basket creel by George Lawrence Co. The front metal plate reads: The George Lawrence Co. Established 1857. Portland Oregon. The creel is marked 5A on the half leather covered lid for a 30 pound capacity creel. Across the top back edge of the lid. The tooled leather has an eleven inch ruler. The leather lid and middle strap has the Supreme tooled design. The creel is made of tightly woven split willow aka fine French weave and quality saddle leather with embossed interlocking pattern. It has a leather hand strap on back. The creel measures 16" long, 6 1/4" deep, 9 1/2" back height and 8" front height. Harnesses were after market purchases ... moreas an accessory item and this creel was not found with a harness. The creel is in very good condition. The tightly woven willow is intact with no breakage and the leather has minor grazing which adds character. The lid opens and closes fine. The front buckle is separated from the front. The buckle strap is held in place with a nut/bolt. The photos show exactly what you're getting. This is truly a rare find! Highly collectible it will make an excellent addition to your collection. Vintage Rare Child's Woven Fishing Creel I have taken many pictures for you to enjoy and check out condition of this vintage childs size fishing creel. It is approximately 9 1/2" across the bottom. Appears to be all original leather straps and metal closure. Not sure if the lining came with it since there are loose threads and appears stitching was done by hand. But it is how we bought this. Many many years ago and it has been on display in our house as is. Lining looks like vintage denim. What a unique creel for your display of vintage fishing gear! I took pictures of all angles for you to see the condition and loose threads and the few cracked wicker pieces. This has been in our smoke free home and I do not detect any unusual odors.
