Vintage Fly Fishing Wicker Basket Creel Fisherman's Basket
Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. The hinges are intact and in good condition, but the lid needs a bit of adjustment when opened. Feel free to email me with questions or for more photos. Being offered this week is a Vintage Wicker& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel Basket. This trout creel is in Very nice condition! It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. It also has two belt slits at the back for a shoulder strap if needed. This is a nice addition to any Vintage fishing collection and ready to fish or display! Please see picture for more details. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. This appears to be an older wicker fishing creel basket. Has a wooden lid with a carved fly fishing lure decoration on top. Lid is connected with four strips of leather and there is a leather loop for hanging. Leather strips are in good shape. None broken. Lid has a rustic handmade look to it. This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. The shoulder strap is missing, the leather handle is there, but torn some from the basket.It was hard to strap closed, due to stiffness and part of the strap missing. It's in need of leather oil. But still a nice piece for decorating, or in the garden, etc.

This auction is for a Pre-owned but never used or displayed 1996 Fly-Fishing Wicker Creel or Fishing Basket. This wicker basket is in perfect condition with leather trim and a 47 1/2" adjustable strap. The closure is a twist lock. It has a drop slot in the upper right hand corner. The basket is 9 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 5 1/4" high. It has no broken wicker. The strap and lock are also in excellent shape. It has a flat back and oval body( sides and front) I have enclosed pictures of all angles including the bottom, to show the condition. This was initially purchased as a decorative item, but our decorating for a family room took a different direction before we used this. It has been stored in a box in a closet since 1996. It was never used for fishing so it has no odor or fishing residue. This Creel also comes with a ... moredecorative fish that I purchased, that you may choose to use as a decoration.or not. This vintage creel measures 11 inches across the top. About 7 inches deep and about 8 1/2 inches tall. The latch on the front is missing and the top is attached only with string on one side- the strap is not attached either but will come with the creel. The basket is still in good condition- I do not see any breaks or damage- only some very light splatters of dark green paint here and there- it is hardly visible- I only noticed it when looking up close for any damage. Overall, this is a great vintage creel!

Vintage Antique Creel Fishing Trout/Fly Fishing Basket. The creel has lots of wear and tear. The pocket on the front is ripped and needs repair. Look like the leather was treated with oil but it is still hard. Shoulder strap off on one side. The top is a little lose. It is tied on with leather. Latch on front is broken. This is a great old creel with losts of potential. Just needs some repairs. I have tried to capture everything in the photos so please look carefully.
