Being offered this week is a Vintage Wicker& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel Basket. This trout creel is in Very nice condition! It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. It also has two belt slits at the back for a shoulder strap if needed. This is a nice addition to any Vintage fishing collection and ready to fish or display! Please see picture for more details. Fabulous vintage fishing creel in excellent condition. It has a tooled leather shoulder strap with lambswool underneath. The wick and leather trim is all in great shape. The buckles on all the straps work great. The rivets and all the stitching looks solid. This handsome basket would work as a display piece or use it for fishing! The approximate measurements are 17" wide at the widest point x 8" tall x 6 1/2" from front to back. On Feb-06-13 at 09:45:32 PST. Rare Antique Vintage Fishing Creel Wicker Leather Trout Fishing Basket Nice One
Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

SUPER! Near Mint Condition Vintage Split Willow& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel. Found in Bozeman. Montana one of the centers of Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing in the World! It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. The Strap is also Great. It has inches marked off on the top back of the creel for measuring the catch. One nearly identical just sold for $200 on Ebay but this one is even better. Vintage Leather Reinforced Wicker Trout Fishing Creel made in British Hong Kong
Up for bids is a very nice vintage leather reinforced wicker trout fishing creel as pictured made in British Hong Kong. The creel stands 9" high in the back at the top of the lid and tapers to 7 1/2" in the front at the top of the lid. It measures 14" long by 6" wide across the bottom. The very fine thread the looped handle on the top back was sewed together with has deteriorated with age exposing the wicker on the inside as seen in the last two pictures. This would probably be an easy fix for someone who works with leather. Otherwise the creel is in very nice condition with just light wear to the leather. Antique Trout Fly Fishing Wicker Creel w/ Metal& Leather Fish Latch& Shoulder Strap Best age guess on this would be mid-1930’s– mid- 1950’s. This vintage trout fishing creel is made of wicker. It stands about 8 ½” tall x 13” wide at the bottom and 10” wide at the top x 5 ½” front to back. Lid has an opening for fish. Opening measures about 1 ¾” wide x 2 ¼” The creel latch is a decorative. Unique fish design consisting of a head, middle and tail made of metal(magnetic) joined by leather. The ring turn buckle, backed by a leather multi-pointed disc, is non-magnetic and might be brass. The latch is fully functional. The wicker is near perfect although old and likely brittle. The lid hinge which was also wicker has been repaired with some sort of strong twine. This creel also comes with it’s original leather and cloth ... moreshoulder strap. The leather is still somewhat flexible and the cloth strap shows little wear or damage. All in all, this is a highly desirable piece of fishing history from a by-gone era. A super item to hang in your fishing lodge or man-cave! Vintage Fishing Trout Creel Wicker and Leather Kreel and '75 PA Fishing License
This is a vintage leather and wicker fishing creel. And it comes with a 1975 Pennsylvania fishing license pin that is on a piece of leather strap that broke off of the creel. The wicker is in really good shape with no breakage, but the leather has obvious wear. The strap and handles are no longer attached. The leather pouch is sturdy and the flap opens without the leather cracking, as does the top of the basket. On the top of the basket is a ruler printed on the leather that is still mostly visible. There is a slice in the leather on the left side of the pouch cover. The basket is 7.5" high and 15" across at the widest part. It is 8" deep from the front of the pouch to the back of the basket. I do not ship outside of the United States and I only accept payment from PayPal accounts based in the United States.

I bought this at an estate sale in Vermont, it had been hanging in a barn, the leather strap is a bit dry feeling, but the basket is in great shape with the exception of one piece that holds the lid is broken and replaced with a cable tie; the weave reminds me of an Adirondack pack basket. There is some damage that I want to point out(please see pictures for the true condition)the strap on the front is damaged on the hole part of the leather. One the back in the center I think there was a strap coming out and going back into the basket again that is missing. And on the one leather strap that holds off the back- the hook is bent. Vintage Old Fishing Creel Leather and Wicker Split Reed with Strap Trout
Hello: You are bidding on a vintage wicker& leather creel. I think this is split reed not wicker-the reed is flat not rounded but I am no expert. The front strap has broken. It is inside, you are bidding as is. This measures approx. 8" tall(at back inc. cover) 14" wide(across bottom at widest part) and 5" deep. Vintage Wicker Leather Trout Fly Fishing Creel Basket Bag Straps Pouch Woven 50s
Up for sale is a vintage fly fishing creel. This creel features the original shoulder strap with hand woven wicker basket. This bag has a leather pouch which is more desirable. The leather is very old and hardened so it would make for a nice display rather then actual use. Some straps have been repaired as pictured. The bag was taken from an ancient garage. This is a vintage fly fishing creel. A woven wicker basket with leather detailing. Great look. The leather strap on the front closure is missing a few inches off the end. Beautiful pieces of aged leather at the corners and edges. Looks like some paint was splattered on parts of the basket at some point long ago, could perhaps be scrubbed off. Wicker Creel (Trout Basket) with Leather Strapping
Nice old wicker basket with leather strapped lid. When I picked this item up I assumed it was an old bicycle basket for a ladies bicycle. Or perhaps an old hanging mail basket but there are similar baskets online which refer to this as a"creel" or"trout basket" There is a decorative carved medallion on the lid(framed in braded leather strips) with a hook or anchor design so there's definitely a nautical element to this object. There are 2 holes on the back which would allow hanging of this basket on a post- or perhaps the neck of a ladies bicycle cruiser. The basket looks like it has some age to it, whatever paint was on it at one time has virtually faded but the wicker is in good shape. Old Vintage Wicker Leather Trim Large Trout Fishing Creel 9" Ruler Tooled Strap
Old vintage wicker with leather trim trout fishing creel in good condition for its age. But needs repair work on the stitching, as you see pictured! Overall size is 16.75" across at the base. 6" deep and 10" tall at the back to top of handle. All original leather present. But dry, and could use conditioning( I recommend Lexol.but you may know of something better. There is not really any damage other than the stitching coming undone.please see pictures) The strap on the front is damaged and broken from use at the center hole. The back shoulder strap. Appears to be an add on, or replacement, as it has leather tooling/stamp work. I can easily make out an old 9" ruler to measure your trout on the lid in the back. This came from my family so I know it is old. Somewhere between 1920& 1940 is my best guess.
