Being offered this week is a Vintage Wicker& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel Basket. This trout creel is in Very nice condition! It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. The buckles on all the straps work great. The rivets and all the stitching looks solid. This handsome basket would work as a display piece or use it for fishing! Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

Vintage Native Canadian Birchbark Vine Carved Fishing Trout Creel
I've had this vintage creel over 20 years. Having bought it in Ontario during a fishing trip. The body of the creel is made of double layers of birch bark with the white bark side to the interior. It measures 10 inches tall by 12 inches wide at its tapered base. It is laced with thin strips of what appears to be either light colored deer or moose hide and has hinges, a hanging loop on the back, and a strap for the peg that closes the latch made of what appears to be a darker dyed deer hide. The top has a center hole cut for inserting the caught fish. This great birch bark creel has never been used for fishing, so it is still as clean as can be both inside and out. SUPER! Near Mint Condition Vintage Split Willow& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel. Found in Bozeman. Montana one of the centers of Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing in the World! It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. The Strap is also Great. It has inches marked off on the top back of the creel for measuring the catch. One nearly identical just sold for $200 on Ebay but this one is even better. There is a Chinese or Japanese symbol on the front. It has two straps on the back, where I would think you put a belt thru them to carry the creel on your belt. I am not sure, just speculating. Size is 9” wide at front. 8½” tall and the width inside is about 4” wide. The top piece comes out and acts like a tray. With a small square hole in it. The lid has a woven rectangular opening on the left side, it also has a sliding latch mechanism to hold the lid closed. Up for bid is a nice small Pennsylvania made white oak trout creel. The lid is 11 1/2" x 5 1/2" at the longest and widest points. The hole is 2" x 1 3/4" It was made by the Clearfield Sporting Goods Co. Clearfield, Pa. and it's my understanding that they were in business for decades and went out of business in the 1950's.It has a piece of veneer missing from the lid and its wired in one spot shown in pic 6 where the strap goes through and the left hinge right above it is worn through. Other than that its in really nice shape for its age. I couldn't find any like this one when I was researching it. Unusual Vintage or Antique Woven Reed Fishing Trout Creel Unique design
Acquired at a yard sale in rural N. Florida 1985.Unique shape as I have researched auction house sales and websites. But nothing anywhere similar in design. Constructed of woven reed. Base width at front is 16.25 in. Cover width is 9.0 in. Like most of these reed creel, this one does have issues. The original cane lid hinges are long gone and were replaced with old shoelace. The twisted cane loop in front that secures the lid to the body has broken and the corresponding connector on lid is missing. On the back there is a 3/4 in square of missing cane. The good news is that the double twisted loops on either side for a carrying strap are intact. You collectors will have a much better idea of the age of this creel than I, however my opening bid will reflect my confidence in the possible rarity of this design. Up for Auction is a wonderful Estate Sale Find. I bought this for my grandson and then found out he was more into Space Ships at this time! This is a wonderful Vintage Willow Fishing Creel with real leather trim. It was obviously used at one time but is still in great condition. There are no holes in the wicker that I could see. I tried to take photos from all angles so you could see for yourself. The leather is in good condition. A few worn spots but no breaks in the leather, Buckle works fine. Few water spots on the one front side. but this was used to fish in streams. I was going to post the fish separately. But they go so perfectly with this creel, Perfect scale, I just couldn't separate them. They have been together a long time according to the previous owners daughter. I am guessing they are made out of fiberglass. they are very ... morelightweight. They can be removed easily if you so desire. they are attached via the hanger that you would attach the real fish you caught with. They appear to be hand painted and coated with a protective clear coating. Glass eyes. Great detail.hopefully you can see it in the photos on zoom. There are no nicks or chips on the fins and tails. They are really wonderful pieces of ART. The creel measures approx. 8 1/2" high by 14 1/2" wide(at the widest point of base) The trout are 8 1/4" 10 1/4" and 10 1/2" approximately. Vintage Leather Reinforced Wicker Trout Fishing Creel made in British Hong Kong
Up for bids is a very nice vintage leather reinforced wicker trout fishing creel as pictured made in British Hong Kong. The creel stands 9" high in the back at the top of the lid and tapers to 7 1/2" in the front at the top of the lid. It measures 14" long by 6" wide across the bottom. The very fine thread the looped handle on the top back was sewed together with has deteriorated with age exposing the wicker on the inside as seen in the last two pictures. This would probably be an easy fix for someone who works with leather. Otherwise the creel is in very nice condition with just light wear to the leather. Vintage Fishing Creel - Trout - Fly - Woven - With Leather Strap - Camp - Basket
This vintage creel measures 11 inches across the top. About 7 inches deep and about 8 1/2 inches tall. The latch on the front is missing and the top is attached only with string on one side- the strap is not attached either but will come with the creel. The basket is still in good condition- I do not see any breaks or damage- only some very light splatters of dark green paint here and there- it is hardly visible- I only noticed it when looking up close for any damage. Overall, this is a great vintage creel!

Wicker Fishing Basket Antique Early 1900s? I don't have the exact date of manufacturing but from research it looks to be in the 1900's. There is a wire at each hinge. Last 3 pictures, and I don’t know if it is original or an add-on. A few spots on the inside bottom. Feel like cloth. This basket is approximately 12"x 6"x 6" high. Vintage Fishing Trout Creel Wicker and Leather Kreel and '75 PA Fishing License
This is a vintage leather and wicker fishing creel. And it comes with a 1975 Pennsylvania fishing license pin that is on a piece of leather strap that broke off of the creel. The wicker is in really good shape with no breakage, but the leather has obvious wear. The strap and handles are no longer attached. The leather pouch is sturdy and the flap opens without the leather cracking, as does the top of the basket. On the top of the basket is a ruler printed on the leather that is still mostly visible. There is a slice in the leather on the left side of the pouch cover. The basket is 7.5" high and 15" across at the widest part. It is 8" deep from the front of the pouch to the back of the basket. I do not ship outside of the United States and I only accept payment from PayPal accounts based in the United States.
