There is a main compartment and also two pockets that the top flap closes over and snaps onto.The top flap has a 12" ruler printed on it and above the ruler is a small"3Z" A brass zipper on top that is in good shape.Many metal grommets in the bag body that are in very good condition. This old fish bag/pack came from an estate sale where the man said his dad used this fishing in Michigan and it was handed down to him where he kept some gear and fish he was catching. Of course. This is an old canvas and wooden fishing creel. It measures 24 1/2 inches from top of strap to bottom. The wooden box measures 9 1/2 inches by 7 inches. The straps are 2 inches wide. The inside of the wooden box is divided into 6 compartments. On the back side of the flap. The numbers L-18-40-1426-A are stamped. It is in very good condition for it's age. The black line/space you see one the bottom and lid of the box is part of the original box. It looks as if two pieces of wood were used for both the top and the bottom of the box. The canvas and screen creel is in good condition but could use a cleaning. Part of the leather strap is off but the piece is there. The creel has a zippered storage compartment and the zipper works good. I can-not find any holes or tears. The stitching is good and the shoulder strap is intact. Old OD canvas fish creel in used condition. It is from the estate of a WWII collector. Fits right in with military items. I doubt it was military issue. Probably made by one of the companies making canvas and leather items for the war effort. Front pouch has a tear and front pouch waterproof liner is crackly. Bottom is made of Masonite. VINTAGE FISH CREEL AND OTHER CANVAS BAGS
Up for auction is a Vintage Canvas unnamed Creel. Size is approx. 10 X 12 inches. It has a canvas strap sewn to the bag and is in very good shape. There are two zippers on the bag. The one on top for the fish compartment and one on the side for the weatherproof pocket. The plastic liner in in very good shape and I could not find any weather rot or cracks in it. Both zippers work well. The wire mesh underneath is totally intact and I could not find any holes in it. Even the leather type binding on top is not cracked or broken. The bag is dirty but in very good condition for it's age. On the other bags there are two have moon pouches that are 4 X 5 1/2 inches in the closed position. There are two cotton pads on one side of the inside pouch. They close with velcro so they can't be that old. The darker canvas bag looks military but has ... moreno numbers on it. Size of the bag is 7 1/2 X 9 inches appox. It has a button closure on the flap. The lighter colored bag has a drawstring for a closure and is 9 X 11 inches approx. I have found very few on the internet and have not been able to find out much about it. From what I have found I believe it to be English but can not be sure. The bottom is wicker with wood braces inside giving it a sturdy frame. It sits on four very small wooden feet. It has a tin tray in the top for storage as you can see in pictures. I have seen others which have a second wooden tray for tackle which this one did not come with or is missing. The top is particle board covered with a padded vinyl like material with tacks on the side as you can see in pictures.It is in very good condition overall with just a couple of minor splinters in the wicker as you can see in pictures. It's in great shape for its age The metal screen on top turns. There are no holes or tears in the canvas. There are stains in the canvas which I think can be washed out. A nice heavy canvas fishing creel. Rectangular shape measuring 11 inches long by 9 inches high by 4 1/2 wide. This creel is in great shape with brass zippered closings. It has a zippered outside pouch and a inside pouch in addition to the creel basket. The creel has a screen bottom and screen ends. The shoulder strap is in good condition and also has a waist strap to keep the creel close to the body and out of the way. A good example of a typical inexpensive fishing creel used in Montana in the 40's. 50's and 60's. I have other canvas creels of the same vintage so be sure to check those out too. VINTAGE CANVAS FISHING CREEL - LEATHER CLOSING STRAP - SCREEN BOTTOM
Nice old canvas fishing creel in good shape. It measures 14 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Rounded bottom with an inner pouch. The green canvas shoulder strap is solid and strong. It has a leather closing strap with a metal buckle. The leather is a little stiff but could be made pliable again easily. The screen is double stitched in place and well secured so none of your catch would slip away. About 2 1/2 inches of piping has un-stitched beneath the leather closing strap of the bags closing flap. A good example of a typical inexpensive fishing creel used in Montana in the 40's. 50's and 60's. It is in"found" condition. Classic. Rubberized canvas fishing creel with adjustable shoulder strap and Cumberland Fishing Clothes Ta-pat-co Made label on the back. Vintage Danielson Canvas Fishing Creel's with FREE Self Inflating Duck Decoy
This is a nice vintage pair of"Danielson" brand Canvas Fishing Creels. There are two different sizes. One about 16" and the other 13" The larger one appears to be newer than the large one. I am not sure of the material it is made out of, it almost appears to be like a nylon/ canvas like material. The small one appears to be canvas, but I know nothing about material and I could be mistaken. Both are in good shape, the big one a little better. There is a 1" tear on the back of the small one. There is an old fishing license in the small one from Idaho dated 1997. Also included is an"Original Deeks" Self Inflating Duck Decoy. Just drop it on the water and Presto! it;s inflated. Old wicker Creel for Fly fishing-1930's w/Leather/canvas shoulder-strap
Nice old creel in very good shape for being used-the previous owner put a 6" rule on the top-to make sure his or her Brook Trout were legal. At that time. Has a little damage where the previous owner tied some fly rod line on it to make sure it was secure. Nice creel probably for collecting or decorating. I think the latch is German Silver-not sure. 14" across the bottom x 6" high in front and 8" high in the back-tapered to the lid that is 11" across x 6" wide- the lid is tapered 1-1/2" from top edge to the front edge. 5" across the bottom to front edge.
