Here is a Vintage Wicker French type Weave Fishing Creel- with a leather Harness strap- leather Pocket and Trim. The bottom shows some missing wicker but still sturdy. It measures 16" across the bottom and is about 8" from the bottom to the top on the sides. It is almost 13" across the open top. It does need some TLC to clean the leather and some minor sewing on the leather. Feedback is a huge issue for sellers. This is a Great Vintage looking split willow also called French weave fly fishing creel from the 1940's era. It has leather trim and a leather pouch with two snaps and readable 9" ruler. It has developed a nice patina over the years. The leather straps and harness are still intact and are in a good vintage condition. Great decorator piece to show with your fishing collectibles. Picture#9 shows the right snap is off of the inside leather pouch but is connected to outside flap and shows well. Last two pictures are from the book titled"The Art of the Creel" and shows a similar picture of this type of creel. Measures 15" wide x 8" high x 6-1/2" depth. Large antique fishing creel from the late 1800's- turn of the century. Made from SPLIT WILLOW with the FRENCH WEAVE style. Nice leather and canvas shoulder strap/harness(although dirty) MEASUREMENTS: 14 1/2" long x 9 1/2 high x 5 1/2" deep As mentioned above. This creel is in excellent vintage condition(dirty and aging to the leather, canvas and front hinge) with only a tiny break in one of the lid hinges. Please note that there is a thin wire wrapped loosely around the hinge holes to prevent any further damage(see last photo for break and wire image) Also, some breaks in the tiny VERTICLE DECORATIVE split willow details in the front left side(see 1st photo and use zoom) A great gift or decorator item!

This is a high-quality split-willow and leather french weave creel with full leather harness and tackle pocket still attached. Top-of-the-line when it was created. It measures approx. 15" x 10" x 5" Even though there are some problems with it, like the hook for the clasp having fallen off and the owner replacing it with a hook fashioned from wire in order to keep using the creel, and one side of the stitching of the tackle pocket having come out, the problems have come from real functional use and demonstrate the creel's"bona fides" as a trusted piece of equipment. At this point, it has earned the right to retire to the pastures of display, rather than any further use. Split Wicker "RARE" French Weave Center Hole Creel (Antique)
SPLIT WICKER"RARE" CENTER HOLE"FRENCH WEAVE" CREEL You are bidding on a"RARE" antique center hole tightly weaved creel. Circa 1920's-30's. This is a pot-bellied style woven basket. It is a center hole, split willow"French weave" creel. From what I could determine from research, it was most likely made pre-WW11(1930's or earlier) there is a 10" center hole and it is a light caramel color. There is no strap included. This item has a few condition issues, has spotting, wear and dirt. The wickerwork of this piece is damaged on the front left-hand side and several places along the top of the lid(see pics) On the back right hand side there is damage to the wickerwork as well. The lid is secured with two pieces of wire and the inside is dirty from use.

And it is rather large, measuring about 15-1/2” across the bottom. 11-1/2” across the top and it is about 7” deep. Very rustic and utilitarian looking. Metal clasp, canvas strap. In overall very good condition. Some minor areas of possibly black spray paint on the front and sides and on the latch, it can be seen in the photos.
