Vintage Fly Fishing Wicker Basket Creel Fisherman's Basket
Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. The hinges are intact and in good condition, but the lid needs a bit of adjustment when opened. Feel free to email me with questions or for more photos. Being offered this week is a Vintage Wicker& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel Basket. This trout creel is in Very nice condition! It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. It also has two belt slits at the back for a shoulder strap if needed. This is a nice addition to any Vintage fishing collection and ready to fish or display! Please see picture for more details. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

Fabulous vintage fishing creel in excellent condition. It has a tooled leather shoulder strap with lambswool underneath. The wick and leather trim is all in great shape. The buckles on all the straps work great. The rivets and all the stitching looks solid. This handsome basket would work as a display piece or use it for fishing! The approximate measurements are 17" wide at the widest point x 8" tall x 6 1/2" from front to back. On Feb-06-13 at 09:45:32 PST. Solid& sturdy. The basket closure strap is a fish head& body. The head has'PAT 66289' on it. There are a few broken strands/connectors. That hold the lid on to its rim, see pictures. Also a few broken strands/connectors. On the basket part, holding the basket to the rim. The 2 leather straps holding the lid to the basket are good. The basket weveing is very tight and strong. It comes with leather straps and metal closer works well. Tail is off fish body but is included. As is all the tackle pictured. Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. This appears to be an older wicker fishing creel basket. Has a wooden lid with a carved fly fishing lure decoration on top. Lid is connected with four strips of leather and there is a leather loop for hanging. Leather strips are in good shape. None broken. Lid has a rustic handmade look to it. This vintage Fisherman's Creel is made of wicker and has a leather/metal closing fish strap and leather hinges. The condition is excellent. There are no breaks in the wicker and the leather strap and hinges are also in great shape. This basket does not have a strap. The fish head is a little dull but I did not want to clean it in fear that I would ruin it. It measures 13" across the bottom base. 10" across the top by 5" wide, about 6 1/2" tall in back and 5" tall in front. VINTAGE ANTIQUE? WILLOW WICKER FISHING CREEL BASKET LODGE CABIN DECOR
This is a vintage. Possible antique, fishing creel. At one time. It had a wicker loop for the wooden dowel latch and this is no longer intact and will have to be fixed. It has a rope shoulder strap. There are a couple bent. Broken or missing reeds on the lid, but the body of the basket is in very nice condition. Would be perfect as is for lodge decor or with a floral or greenery arrangement inside, the small flaws in lid would not be visible and you would not need to use the latch. Measures about 11 1/2 x 5 inches on the bottom and is about 6 inches tall. The rope is plenty long enough for a shoulder strap with a 19 inch drop. It also has a wicker wrapped handing loop/ handle on back. I acquire my items at estate sales. And unless otherwise stated should be expected in good vintage condition. These items are not new. The shoulder strap is missing, and there is just one leather loop at the back. It is in need of leather polish, as it is stiff and was hard to get the lid down. This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. The shoulder strap is missing, the leather handle is there, but torn some from the basket.It was hard to strap closed, due to stiffness and part of the strap missing. It's in need of leather oil. Only on the lid, under where the leather strap should be, is the wicker a little loose(shown in pic 9) The leather is also quite worn and faded. The strap that went from the lid to the main body of the basket is missing(shown in pic 5 and 6) As a result of the leather coming off the lid, the lid is slightly crooked when closed.
