Vintage Fly Fishing Wicker Basket Creel Fisherman's Basket
Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. The hinges are intact and in good condition, but the lid needs a bit of adjustment when opened. Feel free to email me with questions or for more photos. Being offered this week is a Vintage Wicker& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel Basket. This trout creel is in Very nice condition! It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. This appears to be an older wicker fishing creel basket. Has a wooden lid with a carved fly fishing lure decoration on top. Lid is connected with four strips of leather and there is a leather loop for hanging. Leather strips are in good shape. None broken. Lid has a rustic handmade look to it. This Vintage Fishing Creel is a very good size(Rather Large) Approx measurements: 7" 8" Tall and 13" 14" Wide(Measured at Bottom/Base) The material I believe is Wicker(Woven or intertwined wicker) Leather trim along top/front crisscrossed style. There is a leather handle at the top back. Along the top/back section also a ruler. Printed Made in Hong Kong. This Fishing Creel is Vintage(I have owned for at least 15 years and it was Vintage when I bought it) I bought it for a Display Item- I never used it. It appears to more than likely have never been used for its purpose- fishing creel as clean inside. The leather is all intact- not torn. There is some very light rubbing/wear here and there on the leather. Wicker is nice ... morewith very little wear. The top has one wicker piece near the square cut out opening that has come loose and sticking out/up and another wicker that is intact but you can see a split/crack not all the way thru but there so I want to mention. When you open the creel and look at the inside you can see some ends of the wicker sticking out- but not visible on outside. Overall shape of the creel is very nice especially for its age. Plenty of wear left to this fishing creel. This Fishing Creel was displayed in my Non-smoking home for less than 1 year and then it was stored in a box. Has an embossed ruler along the back edge of the top for measuring your catch. No maker's mark that I can see. The end part of the strap that buckles the top closed is missing. This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. The shoulder strap is missing, the leather handle is there, but torn some from the basket.It was hard to strap closed, due to stiffness and part of the strap missing. It's in need of leather oil. But still a nice piece for decorating, or in the garden, etc.

Up for auction is a VINTAGE FISHING CREEL. This creel is in very good condition save for the carrying handle is broke off(see photo# 5) and there is no carrying harness also there is no fishy smell. The approx. measurements are 8 7/8 in. high. 14 3/4 in. long, 4 3/4 in. wide at middle.
