Johnny Cash had one(his sold for $51,000) Slim Dusty had one that Anne Kirkpatrick now has, all of the Eagles bought one. It's an amazing guitar and still has not really reached its worth. Mine is beautifully played in and the tone is to be believed! It's one of the major loves of my life. Mine cost $2300 in 1977. So $15000 is about the same value as then. Vintage Martin 00 21 00-21 00-21NY Acoustic Guitar ***Plays & Sounds Great!***
1965 Martin 00-21NY& Case This is a player grade instrument that plays and sounds great! Unoriginal but perfect working Schaller Tuners. First 4 or 5 frets look to be unoriginal. Mild wear on fretboard that can be seen in the right light but cannot be felt. No buzzing and nice action. Saddle low but does not need a neck reset. No cracks! Original bridge has been reglued. Body is nicely refinished and the Brazilian rosewood back and sides are nice looking. No significant dings and only a few small scratches but nothing that goes through the finish. Some finish dripped inside the body by whomever did the work but it's not much. Finish on the neck has a slight haze but plays very smoothly. RARE Vintage Takamine F450S-A Martin D 28 18 41 45 Lawsuit Guitar Brazilian
This is a mid 70s Takamine F 450S-A. 1 11/16" nut. Takamine's top of the line dreadnaught at the time with all the high-end MOP appointments. These are very scarce and very collectable. This one is absolutely gorgeous and sounds amazing. This was my first encounter with this model and as a vintage Martin buff. I must say that I was very impressed with how good this guitar sounds and how comfortable it plays. The action is nice and low and it plays like butter. The top is solid Spruce. I have been told that the"A" in the model# stands for adirondack spruce but it looks like sitka spruce to me. I believe the back and sides are bookmatched/laminated brazilian rosewood. This has a truss rod and the neck is really nice with just the right amount of relief. The frets have obviously been dressed recently because there is no sign ... moreof string wear. New bone saddle and bone nut. Great set-up and spot-on intonation. There are two repaired cracks in the spruce top. Both have been professionally repaired and stablized. Both are pictured. There is also a 2" ding in the back where it took a pretty good hit a some point and time and a 2" long ding in the finish on the edge of the top(lower bout) Both of these are pictured as well. The finish is all original and is still very nice. There is some hazing in the tight right angle corners, which is a finish trait that all Takamine's are know for. As far as tone and volume. This guitar can hold its own with dreads costing twice what I am asking. These are usually close to $4K when you can find them. Because of the repairs and cosmetic flaws, I am giving someone a great opportunity to get this gorgeous dreadnaught for a great price. Comes with a later hardshell case. This is a one owner MARTIN SIGMA 52SDR-9 Acoustic Guitar with hardshell case. I purchased this beauty brand new back in 1972. Included is the original hang tag that came with the instrument. It has always been in a smoke free. Climate controlled environment. Some Sigma enthusiasts swear that all of the early high end Sigma Guitars that were imported from Japan by the C.F. Martin Co. Including this Model were constructed of all solid wood top, sides and back. The description below taken from“Wikipedia” indicates this to be true; however, I personally make no guarantees. 52SDR-9 Dreadnought(c1972. Solid spruce top. Solid matched rosewood sides and 3-piece back(ala' D-35. Back and sides have tri-layered white/black/white binding. Rosewood overlay on peghead. Peghead bound in white. Ben is a master luthier that has worked on thousands of Martin guitars. His work is an art in itself. I worked directly with Ben to decide what would be the best way to preserve this unique piece. Here is the story: When I received the guitar. The bridge was off, and there was no pickguard. There was a footprint of a large pickguard that had obviously been there for most of the guitars life. Ben made the tortoise shell pickguard out of 1960’s acetate material. After researching, we were ... morenot positive if the bridge that arrived with the guitar was original or not. The replacement saddle also came from Ben's reserve stock. It is an ivory saddle from a 1930’s Martin. The replacement nut is bone. The tuning keys are original. The frets and fretboard are original. The wood binding is intact. Since the bridge was off. We were able to set the bridge in the correct position. The intonation is set perfectly. Because of its age, the guitar is braced for very light steel strings. I have.10 extra light gauge D'Addario phosphor bronze strings on it now. I've had Silk& Steel strings on there too, and they sound great. I'd recommend trying them out too. Vintage 1966 Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Brazilian Rosewood + HSC
This beautiful vintage Martin D-28 is a fabulous playing and sounding guitar. The cosmetics on it are great and it is a great player. Cosmetics: There are a few dings to the finish in the binding on the guitar(pictured) as well as some spider-webbing in the finish on the top. The top has been oversprayed so these spider webs in the finish are underneath the overspray. The Brazilian rosewood Back and sides have not been oversprayed and still have plenty of shine left on the finish. There are no large dings. Dents, or scratches anywhere on those areas. There is a small ding on the top of the headstock. The frets are in fantastic condition with only very light visible wear. Other than the items mentioned above. 1976 Martin D28 Acoustic Guitar Sunburst w/case
This Vintage Martin is in good condition with dings and scratches mainly on the front of the guitar. It has been kept in a clean. Pet-free and smoke-free studio environment since I got it in 2001. There is a new bridge on the guitar that was professionally installed but the original herringbone bridge is included. The guitar has also been professionally set-up for Eb. 1963 Martin D-18 w/ non original hard case
Purchased guitar from second owner about 4 years ago. Original finish. Frets, bridge. Work done( I have receipt from Steve's work) 1st luthier- did a great bridge plate repair(original maple) Put on a replacement pickguard. This gent ran into some health issues so i sent the guitar to Steve Kovacik for the rest of the work: replaced grovers with period correct Klusons(there are markings on the finish around the posts from the old tuners) made new nut and saddle- bridge repair(needed some fill in and fix hole wear) reglue- neck reset- grind and polish on frets- original and still looking pretty good- installed upgraded hard plastic pins from Elderly( B&H makes them I think? action is approx 7/64th at low E( corrected measurement from earlier) some wear on top but quite good shape- crack free- looks like dab'd lacquer on heavy spot ... morenear pickguard larger bridge was on guitar at one point- you can see outline around existing bridge- also- guitar had double pickguard at one point local deal would be great( Norwalk CT) great example of early 60's tone- ready to play- all work done pics here:

Cleaning out parents old belongings. This is one of the guitars that my dad had and played in a band. I don't know a lot about guitars so I took the guitar to Elderly's Music( http:www.elderly.com/ in Lansing Michigan and they stated that the instrument is a 1928 Martin 0-18KH. In good working condition and appears to be all original. They also stated that the fret board and fret ends should be sanded and polished and then re-string the guitar. Vintage 1929 Martin 0-18 Mahogany Acoustic Guitar Original Finish w Strong Sound
SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ALL PHOTOS! Here is a very nice sounding 1929 Martin 0-18. Serial#40250. The guitar is as light as a feather but it really has a strong sound. The guitar needed just a few things when I got it including a neck reset and a new bridge. Now the guitar is very playable up and down the neck. There were a few small spots on the ebony fretboard where some filler was used to level out the surface. Also the original bar frets were reseated and now have plenty of height. There are a handful of small sidecracks that are well hidden by the heavy finish checking. The back and top are crack free. The tuners have been replaced with a good set in the correct style. Martin 0-17 prewar guitar 1938. This is the all mahogany bodied steel string guitar that Martin produced. This one was made in 1938. It is a great player and has a tone and resonance that you couldn't get from Martin's 0-15 at the guitar center. This is real prewar sound and vibe. The neck is straight. The frets are good. The fingerboard isn't all dug out but it has wear. I have light gauge phosphor bronze strings and this plays so sweetly. Of course in its 74 years of use it has scratches and some repairs, one on the top treble side lower bout that some fool added color to his finish. There is also a crack on the back glued but not hidden nor is it pro but it works. These guitars where quite light weight and if dropped while strung up would split along the sides. That happened here. the repair is solid and done very early in ... morethis guitar's life. The tuners work smoothly and are original. Comes with the chipboard case that came with it when I got it. I love vintage Martins- but there's something special about this 00-18. It sounds amazing and looks like it's had a very active life. Heavy finish wear, scuffs, scratches, scrapes, bruises, dings and 2 missing pieces of binding. The top has 3 cracks: First, there's one that runs from 14 th fret down to sound hole(neck may have been off at one time) Next. There’s a superficial 2” split below the bridge that doesn’t go through the wood. Finally, there's a professionally repaired crack descending from the bridge to the bottom of the guitar. There are no other cracks in the body or the neck. No headstock repairs, no loose braces and no structural issues. The neck is straight ... moreand the guitar plays and sounds great. 1 11/16th" nut width and 2 1/8" string spacing at the bridge. Vintage 1970s Martin Blue Thermoplastic Hardshell Acoustic Dread Guitar Case
Here is an original Martin Hardshell case from the early to mid 1970s. The case is in good useable condition. But is not Mint by any means. It has 5 fully working latches. The Martin decal on the outside of the case has been"lost to the ages" The pictures will show the wear on the case, one hinge seems to have lost it's center pin, there is a crack that follows the inside of the top ridge mold and the aluminum frame doesn't seem to perfectly line up around the handle. All this being said, the case still looks and functions great, and should serve it's next owner very well. Martin 1962 D 28 Vintage Acoustic Guitar D-28 D28 Original VIDEO's!
If you watch the video's I think you can see the sadness in my eyes.yes I have to part with this wonderful guitar. Fortunately most people I know of who are in the market for these thin gs really love them. And every old Martin I have had to sell I' ve felt pretty good about the hands that it ended up going to. These great old guitars deserve to be played. And this one has been throughout it's life, which can be seen both by the wear on it as well as it's strong voice. Among old D-28's I' ve played from this era this one has a richer deeper voice that may sound a little more laid back. But it projects remarkably well and is very loud as it' s a straight braced guitar. I do want to mention the neck shape. As it's much more of what I think a the current modified v-necks should be. The old hand carved neck all ... morehave a nice feel to them. But this one is especially comfortable and I think warr ants mention. For my medium sized hands it feels perfect. With that nice soft V that is reminiscent of the 30's and 40's Martin's that weren't huge baseball bats. I simply love this neck. I have had this guitar for almost three years and I certainly don't want to sell it and it is one I have held off on selling for a while because I love it so much. But credit card bills have amassed from film school/films and I need to get out of debt. It's just the reality of it. Anyhow. Here's the story of the guitar since I received it. Original finish. Pickguard, nut, tuners. Bridge plate. Was replaced in the 70's with a larger rosewood plate, I had a correct size maple bridge plate put in here in Chicago at Chicago Fretworks, Dan Wolf did a fantastic job, it's played fantastic ever since, at the same time he put a new bone saddle in. Hide glue was used. There is a super slight separation on the back of the bridge(just a small portion on bass side) that I showed to Dan and it went in only a mm or so, he decided doing nothing was best. To be completely upfront: this gorgeous-sounding. 100% American-made 1997 Martin has been seriously played by a serious musician, and it has dings and scratches to prove it. I count five major(about 1 inch) scratches/dings on the front and two on the back(including an area that appears to have been scratched by a belt buckle) and many small ones. See photos. The price I'm asking takes these into account. On the plus side. I had a professional luthier evaluate the guitar and he found NO STRUCTURAL FLAWS. In fact he was struck by how straight the neck is, there's plenty of truss rod adjustment available, and no(zero, none) cracks or warping. The top and neck are straight and the frets appear to have been redone fairly recently and are in very good shape. The solid rosewood fretboard and bridge are also in very good condition. I’m a sucker for all mahogany smaller-bodied guitars and I think I just met their king. Slip on a thumb-pick and play“Freight Train” on this thing and you’ll be in old-time heaven. There’s a kind of clear warmth to it that only good wood and age can provide. It’s a seamless player. ... moreThe nut width spec for this year is 1 3/4” they switched to the 1 11/16th nut in the late 30s) But as every guitar was handmade during this period, this nut’s closer to 1 23/32” It feels great, though, and that’s coming from someone who prefers wider nuts. 34 was also the year they introduced the 14-fret 00-17. Cosmetically. It’s in great shape for a 79 year old guitar. There are a few minor nicks and scratches along with two small cracks on the player’s“side” near the lower bout. The cracks have been repaired and are tight and stable. There has been some debate among luthiers as to whether or not the neck was re-set, but either way, it plays phenomenally, so it’s either a miracle or an excellent job. The tuners are not original and the bridge was replaced by Elderly. The original bridge is included in what appears to be the original case. All the latches work. Martin Mandolin 1922 good condition
This is a 1922( Serial Number 9897) A-Style with a flat back and slanted top. This mandolin has a wonderful vintage tone. With a very sweet resonance that only vintage woods can offer. This mandolin will be wonderful for most traditional mandolin styles such as classical, folk or Italian music. I believe it to be an AK KOA top.Neck is good and the frets show some typical wear. This plays and sounds nice. This mandolin shows some wear consistent with it's early build date of 1922. Small 3 inch split in the back and a slight warp in one spot on the top that DOES NOT affect tone or playability. There are numerous dents, dings and scratches. The intonation is good. Aftermarket simple case included. Neck is good and the frets show some typical wear. This plays and sounds nice. Could use a nice setup to your liking.

Offered today is this Antique Pocket Trumpet made by the Martin. Pullman& Co. Of New York. This pocket trumpet has been soldered around the horn mouth, has a couple of dents and a sticky key. It is probably playable if cleaned but would make a nice display piece or an addition to a collection. It is 8" long and 6" high. I stand behind everything I sell.
