It has a great lodge look and I suppose with some leather conditioner could also be used for fishing old school.

The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. Offered here now is an antique fish creel made from wicker and leather. I am unsure of the manufacturer but it is a quality piece with tons of character. There are little stars and shapes pressed in to the leather. Size: Measures about 8.25" tall 14" wide and 8.25" deep Condition: Wicker in general is in good shape. Please view pictures. Beautiful Antique/Vintage Fishing Creel Hand Stitched Leather Trim Wicker Basket is in Very Good Condition with one Breakage in Wicker Denoted in Rear by Left Corner. Fishing Creel has been with me for more then 2 decades on display. The fishing creel has the handle and strap missing. The metal stud that holds the handle has come out of place in the rear of basket. The buckle is missing from the front. The leather appears to have sueded over time. All the hand stitching appears to be intact except across the top left corner there is a breakage in the leather where the basket's lid closes. Above the hole top. You are looking at a vintage wicker creel basket for fishing. That is in need of some TLC. This piece is 60 plus years old, and starting to show the age. It has several small holes or gaps in the wicker and needs some weave work in certain places(see pics) Also the top has been temporarily attached with leather as it was, but needs help. Buckle on front is missing, but the original leather waist strap is in the basket. Basket measures roughly 13" long, 6" wide and 8" deep. I spent the weekend digging through my in-laws' basement. Their family operated a bait and tackle store for almost 70 years. This was the second of my special finds. An antique/vintage fishing creel wicker and leather basket. It has a clasp which resembles a fish. I've included many pictures so you can see the good condition this piece is in.
