Made with canvas and plastic it is a perfect bag to keep your fish in while your waist deep in the river. It is used and in great condition. Vtg Antique Wicker Fishing Creel Leather Trim Fly Fishing Basket Shoulder Strap
This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. The top flap of the basket does have a measuring ruled on the leather. Please check out the photos, I have take a lot to capture all the wear on this basket. It shows age and looks original. It measures about 12" wide. 6 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" deep. Overall the condition is very nice however there is small damage on the one corner and it is missing one piece on the front of the woven wicker(see photos) The leather strap has a cracked piece from age, but appears to be complete. Nice old creel in very good shape for being used-the previous owner put a 6" rule on the top-to make sure his or her Brook Trout were legal. At that time. Has a little damage where the previous owner tied some fly rod line on it to make sure it was secure. Nice creel probably for collecting or decorating. I think the latch is German Silver-not sure. 14" across the bottom x 6" high in front and 8" high in the back-tapered to the lid that is 11" across x 6" wide- the lid is tapered 1-1/2" from top edge to the front edge. 5" across the bottom to front edge.

Up for sale is a vintage split wicker with window fishing creel.Has a cloth and leather shoulder strap. With the second loop is missing.I am not sure of the maker of the creel itself, seems very unique, with a really nice leather and brass front clasp, turn clip that looks like a fish.Really neat, and in VERY good condition.Almost looks like there has never been a fish in it, or used.The wicker stitching with the lid and main basket seems like it might have been repaired?But I am not sure, it almost looks factory too.Please see pics.Its in mint condition, except the strap, without any big cosmetic flaws.I almost didnt think it was old because its in such good shape.Any questions please ask.Any info on this please pass along.Thanks for looking.

This is a nice old willow woven creel for it's age. Made in England with a brass decoration on lid& leather string closure with tongue part of latch strap is missing. Hinge is held on by shoe strings and some willow wrapping. Back bone of hinge is broken and piece is included, see photos. There is a dent on the front where willow is damaged and one bone is snapped yet there. The rest of the basket is in good condition and can be rebuilt. Fly fishing Creel is 11.5" long 4.25" wide 7" deep at back and 5" deep in front. Lid is 5.5" wide and 10" long. Leather and canvas shoulder strap is in great condition with an extra leather strap with a clip on one end. Please see all photos for condition before buying this item. Vintage Hand Tooled and Hand Stitched Fishing Creel Real Leather Shoulder Strap
This is a beautiful old fishing creel. It has a nice patina. Is hand stitched, and does have some tooled leather. Not your" Plain Jane" for sure as far as vintage creels go. It has no bad odor, no rot, the stitching and bamboo are all in good condition, especially for it's age. The shoulder strap does have one break in it(see picture) and there appears to be one small length of strap possibly missing. A beautiful specimen for decorating or collecting.
