Up for bid is a vintage Rattan/Wicker& Leather Fishing Creel with added Adams Bros 1916 Leather Pouch and added Leather Harness. This well-made creel is very old so there is wear to the leather and rattan/wicker. Some repairs were hand-stiched on the rattan/wicker using cloth material the thickness of a shoe lace. Wire was also used for repairs and metal staples were used to repair the harness strap(see photos) Adams Bros 1916" is stamped on the leather pouch& Houghton's Vim Tread Pat'd Made in the U.S.A. The creel basket has an 8 inch ruler on the top lid next to the hard leather strap/handle top. leather around the opening. Lid, front, corners, hinge, and pocket. The basket is in used condition and the leather is stiff and curled on the front pocket. the buckles and straps were found inside with the fish holder. It is called the Du-fish patented is 1942. The fish holder has a red handle that has peeling paint and the spring still works. The condition is old and used. VINTAGE FISHING CREEL* This is a handsome. Large old creel in pretty good condition. It was used by my great-grandfather for many years before his death in the late 1960s, so it is at least that old. The wicker in is excellent condition. No breaks or holes. The leather is in fairly good shape for its age but does have a tear in the strap and some signs of wear. The top has a ruler etched in the leather with the text"Made in British Hong Kong" on one side. Please examine the pictures closely. I believe they represent the creel well. Up for sale is a vintage fly fishing creel. This creel features the original shoulder strap with hand woven wicker basket. This bag has a leather pouch which is more desirable. The leather is very old and hardened so it would make for a nice display rather then actual use. Some straps have been repaired as pictured. The bag was taken from an ancient garage. This is an excellent vintage/antique wicker fishing basket with leather trim and pouch. The wicker has its beautiful. Original warm patina. It measures 15" X 6" base, 12" X 6.5" mouth, and is 7" high. Above the leather 9" ruler you'll see printed, MADE IN BRITISH HONG KONG. I do not have the strap that laces through the back slits. CONDITION It is in excellent antique condition. There are no breaks in the wicker. The only stitching that is missing is the one stitch shown at the beginning of the ruler. The leather is all nicely in tact but is very dry. Some areas on the strap are very stiff and should be conditioned. I was going to take it to the leather shop to have it cleaned and conditioned but that will be up to the new owner. The front pouch buckle is detached. It will be on the inside of the basket. For the age they seemed to have taken care of it. Items sold as is. We obtained this from an estate sale. Basket weight is 1.10 pounds.

Vintage Original Wicker Leather Fly Fishing Trout Fish Creel Basket w/Pouch This came from a massive fishing estate where everything was over 80 + years old. Not sure on the date of this item. The only markings are Made In British Hong Kong. That would make it fall in between 1841-1997 Not much help! Condition is fair: The wicker is perfect. It has all of its straps. Including the shoulder strap witch is almost always missing or broken. The leather has a tear in the top of the basket and the leather handle has some small tears from were the stitching came undone.
