The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. The top flap of the basket does have a measuring ruled on the leather. Please check out the photos, I have take a lot to capture all the wear on this basket. There is an 8" measurement on the top for when catching your fish. The wicker is great. It has a great lodge look and I suppose with some leather conditioner could also be used for fishing old school.
