You are bidding on a lot of 5 fishing reels. I am not sure the age of all of these but I believe a couple of them are vintage? There are 2 Shakespeare.1 Martin Fly Reel, 1 Daiwa and 1 with no name or markings. The Martin is Model 60. It is in good working condition. It has a line silencer. The Daiwa Is a Procaster. It has some damage on the one side but does not effect the operation. It also has a line leveler. There is 1 Shakespeare Durango. It is in good condition and spins and turns freely. It has a reversible handle. The other Shakespeare is a Model 32 Criterion dated 1960. It has a line leveler and silencer. The other reel pictured has no names or markings. It works very hard. Description: Super great find of two Pflueger Medalist Trout Fishing Fly Reels. Models are 1494 and 1495. I am not a fly fisherman but have done a great amount of fishing in my past. Lakes, deep sea, pond hopping for big mouth bass, pier fishing as well as surf and river. I know a good reel when I see and feel it. The 1494 has been used more than the 1495, check pics and you can tell just by the paint wear. Both spin smooth with a clear consistent clicking sound. There appears to be nothing missing or any cracks or damage. Just normal use. Whoever owned these was a fly fisherman and put some good use to them. Very solid codition for the vintage that they are. Fishing reels. Vintage. Lot includes 2 spinning, 1 casting, and 2 fly fishing.
Five different vintage fishing reels plus a leather Heddon reel carrying case and a vintage reel box for a Shakespeare 1946M Service level Winding Reel. All five reels are in fair shape but have had better days. Spinning reels are a Garcia Abu-matic 170 made in Sweden. Reel does not work(won't crank in line) and a Heddon#150. This reel is missing the spool cover but does work. The one casting reel is a South Bend#300"anti-bacl lash" model D. This reel works fine. Needs a little WD-40. Lot has two fly fishing reels.one is a Southbend"oren-o-matic" balanced reel#1130 model D. This is a nice looking reel but doesn't work the way it should. Last is a fly fishing reel that I think is a H-I made in New York. Not sure as to make as there is no markings on it. This reel too needs work. As I said. 2 vintage skeleton fly reels for parts or to fix. No brand. Both are marked Japan on underside of foot. One has another marking above where it says Japan but I am not sure if it is a maker's name or what it says. This one also has a"B" stamped below where it reads Japan. Both reels are same size(approx. 2 1/2" in dia. Reels both get stuck mid crank, and both have clicker issues. There is also finish loss and overall wear. One of the reels has a loose inner post. One has the slightest rub at a spot when turning the spool around- I think it can be adjusted/oiled to go away without much trouble. Direct from My Grandfather's ancient tackle box here is a very nice assortment of Fly fishing flies and 2 reels. There are right around 50 flies. Now. I don't know anything about the diferent kinds of flies, or if he made these himself or bought them, but they're all tiny and different. They come in an old small film cannister. You also get 2 reels. They both have line in them, but I can't vouch for if they work or not, though I don't think he would have kept them if they didn't work. The blue one is a Martin, automatic Mohawk 8A, the slightly rusty metal colored one is a Pflueger( No. 775 with a bulldog ingrained on it.

14 Vintage Fly Fishing Reels: Pflueger Bristol H-I Wilby Eagle Claw Sturdibilt
14 Vintage Fly Fishing Reels 14 Vintage Fly Fishing Reels. Most of these reels have something wrong with them. So we will list each one and describe it's condition& defects. Some reels have line, but we don't know what brand they are or their specs. Please refer to the photo's for further cosmetic condition details. From left to right, starting at the top left: Pflueger Sal-Trout No. 1554 USA. Mechanically this reel is sound with an undamaged clicker gear and a spool that does not rub. The reel has click/free-wheel modes& switches between the two OK. It has some corrosion on the hardware and spool and loss of finish on the housing. Aluminum spool and housing. Bakelite crank knob spins on it's shaft. Edwards Mfg. Co. of Chicago No. 40 reel. The housing has a couple of bends. But the spool does not rub. Undamaged clicker ... moregear. No free-wheel mode- click only. The spool retainer screw is stripped, but it tightens down ok- there is no wobble to the spool. Aluminum housing& spool has wear, scratches and light corrosion. Aluminum crank knob does not spin on it's shaft. This reel is marked on the white plastic hub on the back: 3-Square Symbol) BOEHOXOT N-1- there are no other markings on this reel. Aluminum spool and housing with loss of finish& spool rubs a little. Has click/no click and drag& they all work. The clicker gear and striker are worn. But the reel clicks ok. There is a tiny rusted forcing screw on the center of the spool hub that is used to remove the spool. Reel crank knobs are bakelite and spin OK. H-I 1855 Reel. Marked"Japan" on reel seat. Aluminum housing& spool. Has click/no click and switches between the two ok. But clicker gear is worn out and it barely clicks in click mode. Wilby Reel. All aluminum with steel reel seat. Has a stamped-steel clicker gear that while quiet. Has an odd feel. No free-wheel mode and the spool rubs a little. Bristol No. 66 Reel. This would be a decent reel. But the click/no click spring is broken and it only has click mod

10 automatic fly reels. The 8 in the first picutures all spin well. The 2 in the last pictures do not but the Meisselbach did when I dug it out this morning. There are 6 Martins. 1 Kalamzoo Miricle 1698 Mod C. A South Bend 1140 with the box. A Shakespeare 1837 with the box. And the Meisselbach Autofly I mentioned. The Martins are a#4 a#3. 2#2's and 2#1's. One of the#1's is locked up.There is also a red cloth bag I think came with one of these reels. A nice bunch of reels for someone that I don't need. Priced to sell I feel. So I hope the pictures will help you better then my descriptions. 2 of the reels are Shakespear 1905 Deuce, FA Model and HE Model. 2 are Fly Fishing Reels. I see no names or markings on these. The fifth reel is one I found after I took the pictures, so there is not a picture of this one. But it is a South Bend No. 450B. I see on this one, the center spool that the line winds up on,has a crack on one side. All 5 reels need cleaning, but they all are in decent shape and all seem to operate like they should. I also found an old original Shakespeare box for one of the 1905 Deuce reels that go with everything. I ask that you please look over my pictures very closely. One has the BOB BET BAIT BOX label on it but the other box is missing the label. Only one small dent in the label but no other dents on either box. A few scratches from normal use. The box with the label is very nice for it's age. 4- Vintage jig sticks. These have been around a long time and have a great patina to them. 10- Vintage fishing lures or various brands. Vintage 1960's Fly Fishing Tackle Box & Reels **Frozen In Time - Untouched**
Up for auction is this vintage Fly Fishing Tackle Satchel with all original tackle. Flies and 4 Shakespeare reels. This box is exactly how I found it, l cleaned the dust from the exterior and obviously took everything out to take pictures and then put everything back. This auction is for everything you see in the pics and is from the 1960's era. All the flies are made of wood/cork, some are in great shape and some show signs of use. I have no idea if the Shakespeare Silent Tru-Art reels are in working order or not, they show signs of use, there are two(2) 1538GD models and two(2) 1837GB models, four(4) reels in total. Vintage for Spares or Repair Two Heavy Duty Fly or Centrepin Reels This auction is for a pair of vintage.Heavy duty reels,i cant decide whether they were made for fly fishing or general centrepin work. They are both hefty.Heavy examples of probably 1950s reels. No manufacturers names although looking at the photo the left hand reel has a lozenge shaped logo on the back,maybe missing a makers sticker?and the initials AKW inscribed also upon the back. Both reels need a degree of attention. But in their most basic mode both reels turn with no apparent wobble and could be used today. The left hand reel has a 4 inch diameter spool and inner spool width is about 1 1/4 inches. Spool capacity is quite shallow. This reel has an on/off rachet(working) and an adjustable brake lever. This appears to be working although maybe not to its full capability? ... moreThere is also a sliding line guide. Which although present is broken. Internally things are pretty clean and the mechanics quite complex. The second reel has no markings upon it. This spins more freely than the first reel. However. It is missing its brake lever and also missing its adjustable drag mechanism. Internally it is clean. But as mentioned a bit bare of parts. It is 4 1/4 inches diameter.And has a 1 3/8 inch wide inner spool. Overall. An interesting pair of reels suitable for restoration. I offer a 14 day guarantee on the item. Lot of 3 Vintage Skeleton Fly Reels, Pflueger Progress, Skilton's, Armax
This auction is for a lot of 3 early. Raised pillar, skeleton fly reels from the early 1900's. These is part of a lot of fly fishing gear that I inherited from my father, a life-long fisherman. My father inherited a number of old fishing items as a young man in the late 1950's or early 1960's and he never threw anything fishing-related away. All 3 of these reels are fully functional, have no play in the rivets and I'm quite confident that they could be fished with if one were inclined to do so. Either way, they would be a great addition to a collection of antique fly-fishing gear. My father had a display case hanging on the wall of his"fishing room" and these reels were part of the display. First up is a Pflueger Progress reel. It appears to be made of brass with a chromed spool and black wood handle. The reel body ... moreappears to have been colored either black or brown. Some of this color has been worn away-see photos. The spool is 2.125" in diameter. It is marked on the top of the seat. PFLUEGER TRADE(some sort of symbol I can't make out) MARK PROGRESS MADE IN U.S.A. And the number"60" underneath the seat. It works great, has a nice clicking sound and spins freely when the ratcheting mechanism is disengaged. There is no line on this reel. Next up is a Skilton's reel. It also appears to be made of brass that had once been black. There is little evidence of the black color except around the counter weight and on the upper part of the reel seat. It has a black wooden handle. The only markings are on the back of the body. SKILTON'S FISHING TACKLE. T.S. Skilton& Sons Fishing Tackle was a well-known supplier of fly-fishing gear in Connecticut starting in 1895. The spool is 2.25" in diameter and is wound with line and a green colored backing. The line looks in decent shape to me. But I've no idea when the last time this reel was used. Finally. We have an Armax reel, also in brass, with most of the blacking still present. Outer dimensions are 32.5 inches tall, 20 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep(including the 3/4 plywood back that was added in later years) Inside dimensions: 30 and 15/16ths x 18 and 7/16ths x 3.25 inches. Age related chips to back corners,but once placed onto wall, are not very noticeable. The grain of the oak and the nicely aged finish draws attention to this piece. An outstanding display case for safe keeping of: fly reels,fishing lures, train collections,knife collections, gun collections, sewing threads/sewing yarns, autographed baseballs, or as a seed packets display, spice herb/ apothecary bottles cabinet, and more.
