Vintage Wicker & Leather Fly Fishing Creel Basket Trout, Stream, Nice!
Being offered this week is a Vintage Wicker& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel Basket. This trout creel is in Very nice condition! It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. It also has two belt slits at the back for a shoulder strap if needed. This is a nice addition to any Vintage fishing collection and ready to fish or display! Please see picture for more details. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

Fabulous vintage fishing creel in excellent condition. It has a tooled leather shoulder strap with lambswool underneath. The wick and leather trim is all in great shape. The buckles on all the straps work great. The rivets and all the stitching looks solid. This handsome basket would work as a display piece or use it for fishing! The approximate measurements are 17" wide at the widest point x 8" tall x 6 1/2" from front to back. On Feb-06-13 at 09:45:32 PST. Offered here now is an antique fish creel made from wicker and leather. I am unsure of the manufacturer but it is a quality piece with tons of character. This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. The top flap of the basket does have a measuring ruled on the leather. Please check out the photos, I have take a lot to capture all the wear on this basket. SUPER! Near Mint Condition Vintage Split Willow& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel. Found in Bozeman. Montana one of the centers of Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing in the World! It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. The shoulder strap is missing, the leather handle is there, but torn some from the basket.It was hard to strap closed, due to stiffness and part of the strap missing. It's in need of leather oil. This wicker basket is in perfect condition with leather trim and a 47 1/2" adjustable strap. The closure is a twist lock. It has a drop slot in the upper right hand corner. The basket is 9 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 5 1/4" high. It has no broken wicker. The strap and lock are also in excellent shape. It has a flat back and oval body( sides and front) I have enclosed pictures of all angles including the bottom, to show the condition. This was initially purchased as a decorative item, but our decorating for a family room took a different direction before we used this. It has been stored in a box in a closet since 1996. This vintage creel measures 11 inches across the top. About 7 inches deep and about 8 1/2 inches tall. The latch on the front is missing and the top is attached only with string on one side- the strap is not attached either but will come with the creel. The basket is still in good condition- I do not see any breaks or damage- only some very light splatters of dark green paint here and there- it is hardly visible- I only noticed it when looking up close for any damage. This is a Great Vintage looking split willow also called French weave fly fishing creel from the 1940's era. It has leather trim and a leather pouch with two snaps and readable 9" ruler. It has developed a nice patina over the years. The leather straps and harness are still intact and are in a good vintage condition. Great decorator piece to show with your fishing collectibles. Picture#9 shows the right snap is off of the inside leather pouch but is connected to outside flap and shows well. Last two pictures are from the book titled"The Art of the Creel" and shows a similar picture of this type of creel. Measures 15" wide x 8" high x 6-1/2" depth. How adorable is this? This is a cool fly fishing creel/ basket. If you are a fisherman or know one they are going to love this piece of fishing history. This basket/ creel has a nice tight weave and is in really great shape. It could use a cleaning. But I am leaving that up to the buyer. On the front it has this adorable wood fish as a closure. The leather strap on the lid wraps around the fish to close it. This creel/ basket measures 9" tall18" across the front12" across the back, and the strap is nylon and adjustable to fit your needs. Beautiful pieces of aged leather at the corners and edges. Looks like some paint was splattered on parts of the basket at some point long ago, could perhaps be scrubbed off. Very Old Basket Style Fishing Creel Vintage Fly Fishing Accessory Leather Straps
This auction is for a vintage basket type fishing creel. Here we have a fly fisherman favorite; there is a hole at the top and double leather strapping. It has nice thin wicker strands and is tightly woven. The leather strap for the latch is torn and missing(see photo) The piece measures 15 ¼” x 10 1/2” and has a pressed tin decorated tag on top front. Overall the item is in very good condition as it is likely over 80 years old. The leather is in need of some conditioning as it is rather dry in some places. A wonderful find in my Grandmother's basement is this old fishing creel used by my Grandfather when they were first married back in the 40's she says. I am not sure how long it was stored away not in use. It is in nice condition with almost all the wicker intact. I wanted to keep it but just don't have the room to display it. It would look great in any collection of fishing memorabilia or for cabin or house decor. The leather clasp strap is a little worn out however and could use some TLC. It has dirt and old fish gunk I presume in the woven wicker that won't come out even after I cleaned it with a brush. I didn't scrub hard for fear of damaging it so I'm sure it can be cleaned better.
