Vintage Woven fishing Basket Creel Primitive Folk Art Country Cabin decor
This is a thrift store find-not sure of the age or where it came from. But it looks like an old fishing basket or fishing creel. It has a woven handle, hinged flap and a string where it was supposed to"lock" over something that isn't there anymore. Measures 14" tall to handle x 13" wide x a little over 8" deep across the bottom. It is in pretty good condition- has some dark spots on the front flap and a few strips are broken in two, and of course some discoloration you would expect from age. An estate sale find. Possibly handmade vintage basket for fishing or however you'd like to use it. Gorgeous basket is in excellent condition for its age, has brass feet, leather lid and trim, rope handles, brass latch and more. Please see all pictures. There is a piece of leather that goes around the top edge of the rope straps that needs to be reattached. Measures approximately 9" high by 13" wide and 8" in depth. The straps hang about 10" long. What a wonderful find for your basket collection or to take fishing. This item is NOT all beaten up or smashed like some older baskets. Shipping cost includes insurance.

Vintage old Fishing Creel Wicker Woven Basket Canvas Strap Primitive Piece
This Creel is in good condition overall the basket itself is very good but there is some flaws to the accessories. The strap is held on to the basket with wicker ties and on one side of the basket the tie was brittle and broke off(please see picture) The decorative V banding that goes around the creel is made of wood veneer and it is cracked in a couple spots and has a broken off spot on the back(please look at the pictures) The whole on the top is a small 1 X 1 and would only fit a small fish maybe like a smelt. The Basket is full size and measures 12.5 X 10 X 10 inches. I will combine shipments for a discount on shipping if items are combined into one invoice. Antique Vintage Fishing Creel Cloth Bag with Primitive Equipment, Reels, Net
Cloth fishing bag with mesh sides. In the bag are two primitive wooden reels. A"Don Gleason's Canoe Carrying Bag" a large net(I haven't unrolled the net, so I can't speak to its condition or exact size) and a fish filet temperature guide. The bag measures about 14" long and 9" tall. The bag and contents have a slight musty smell to be expected of old fishing supplies. I personally don't find it bad enough to be an issue. But it is worth noting.
