Vintage Fly Fishing Wicker Basket Creel Fisherman's Basket
Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. The hinges are intact and in good condition, but the lid needs a bit of adjustment when opened. Feel free to email me with questions or for more photos. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

This is a Vintage George Lawrence Co. Fishing Creel. It is made out of leather and wicker and is in great condition for its age. It is approx. 14" X 11" X 9" and has a leather buckle closure with front pocket that snaps shut(both the buckle and the snaps work and are in good condition) The handle strap is broken(see photo#2 and#10) and there is a one inch tear in the leather on the back(see photo#11) there is also no shoulder strap.The metal name plate on the front says"The George Lawrence Co. Fabulous vintage fishing creel in excellent condition. It has a tooled leather shoulder strap with lambswool underneath. The wick and leather trim is all in great shape. The buckles on all the straps work great. The rivets and all the stitching looks solid. This handsome basket would work as a display piece or use it for fishing! Vintage Wicker Fishing Creel Basket w/ Tackle This is a very nice fishing basket and all the gear pictured comes with it. It measures: 9" high x 11" wide x 6 1/4" deep. It is in very good condition. Solid& sturdy. The basket closure strap is a fish head& body. The head has'PAT 66289' on it. There are a few broken strands/connectors. That hold the lid on to its rim, see pictures. Also a few broken strands/connectors. On the basket part, holding the basket to the rim. The 2 leather straps holding the lid to the basket are good. The basket weveing is very tight and strong. It comes with leather straps and metal closer works well. Tail is off fish body but is included. As is all the tackle pictured. This creel has definitely seen a lot of use which makes it such a great vintage fishing collectible. Wicker is in pretty good condition along with the leather attached to the creel but the cover or lid doesn't close correctly. The straps are brittle and broken in places. Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

SUPER! Near Mint Condition Vintage Split Willow& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel. Found in Bozeman. Montana one of the centers of Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing in the World! It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. The Strap is also Great. It has inches marked off on the top back of the creel for measuring the catch. One nearly identical just sold for $200 on Ebay but this one is even better. Once a forest green color painted wicker, measures 15 wide x 10 high x 8 inches deep and has its original Lawrence leather sam brown belt, double loop, leather harness. This creel is manufacture marked on the back with"Geo. Lawrence Co.Portland, OR. It is also marked with a ten inch ruler and it has a"5" on the lid above the latch. There are two small holes in the wicker. One is on the bottom right side and the other is on the lid. Normal 0 This is a nice wicker creel probably from the 70’s more or less. It is in very good condition. No breaks or damage. It is made from cane material/rattan. There is a Chinese or Japanese symbol on the front. It has two straps on the back, where I would think you put a belt thru them to carry the creel on your belt. I am not sure, just speculating. Size is 9” wide at front. 8½” tall and the width inside is about 4” wide. The top piece comes out and acts like a tray. With a small square hole in it. This is a very nice looking. Vintage, fishing creel made of wicker with leather trim and decoration sewn onto the basket. There is a green. Cloth, web strap that is fixed to more leather strapping. It measures about 14" by 5" at the base and 12" by6" at the top. The highest stance is about 8.5" tall. Condition: The wicker is in very nice shape with no breaks or damage. The cloth strap is in very good shape with no tears. The metal rings and buckles all have rust and corrosion. The leather is very dry and shows wear. The thin strap is broken. The belt strap is also broken. The front strap has broken off and is missing. The leather lid trim has broken/missing piece on the corner. Overall. It is barn fresh and could use a good cleaning. An intriguing feature is barely visible. On the leather trim of the lid along the ... morestraight piece is stamping in inches to measure your catch. Very nice item for your collection or display.

The leather strap is impressed with a design and is flexible but needs cleaning. The creel measures approximately ten inches tall; 13 inches across the front; and 7 1/2 inches wide. Great old wicker fishing creel. I believe the old wicker creel is from the 1940's or early 50's but maybe older. It has a 1953 Pennsylvania fishing license pin on the front of it. The wicker is very good and solid and the leather binding is good except as noted in the description. Leather on the handle is rough and the leather strap is broken and rough. Front buckle is missing where fishing license is pinned. The overall length is 13+" Would make a great display piece.

This fishing creel came from an auction in Vermont. The bottom is stickered Uticamade made in Japan Horrocks Ibbotosn Co. The sticker is hard to make out. It is in good conditon. No bad smells, lightly used. I believe at one time the fish clasp had a tail. The clasp is marked pat 66289. The creel measures 13" long, 8" high, and 5 1/4" wide. Vintage Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket Carved Fly Lure on Lid Nice Display Item
This appears to be an older wicker fishing creel basket. Has a wooden lid with a carved fly fishing lure decoration on top. Lid is connected with four strips of leather and there is a leather loop for hanging. Leather strips are in good shape. None broken. Lid has a rustic handmade look to it. Two holes designed into back of basket. Measures 10 x 7 x 9 Inside is clean. Please check photos for details. Place on right side at top on green where it looks like something has rubbed against it. Not broken but scraped and paint missing. I know nothing about creels and don't know if this was designed for actual use or as a decorative item. I did not clean it.
