2 Fishing Creels with leather trim. 1st creel is in overall good vintage condition save the top closing strap which is missing the end as pictures- the strap is intact. Front snap leather pocket, interior in good shape, bottom stamped"Made in Japan 15" as pictured. Unsure if the body is a bamboo material. 2nd creel is missing strap and top closure, back handle is broken as pictured, bamboo or wicker material all intact. Leather detail on exterior. 3 fishing lures. 1st is large measures appx. 6 1/2 inches marked"Cisco Kid" 2nd lure red/white measures appx. 3 1/2 inches no marker mark. 3rd small appx. 1 1/2 inches stamped F5. Vtg Antique Wicker Fishing Creel Leather Trim Fly Fishing Basket Shoulder Strap
This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. The top flap of the basket does have a measuring ruled on the leather. Please check out the photos, I have take a lot to capture all the wear on this basket. This Vintage Fishing Creel is a very good size(Rather Large) Approx measurements: 7" 8" Tall and 13" 14" Wide(Measured at Bottom/Base) The material I believe is Wicker(Woven or intertwined wicker) Leather trim along top/front crisscrossed style. There is a leather handle at the top back. Along the top/back section also a ruler. Printed Made in Hong Kong. This Fishing Creel is Vintage(I have owned for at least 15 years and it was Vintage when I bought it) I bought it for a Display Item- I never used it. It appears to more than likely have never been used for its purpose- fishing creel as clean inside. The leather is all intact- not torn. There is some very light rubbing/wear here and there on the leather. Wicker is nice ... morewith very little wear. The top has one wicker piece near the square cut out opening that has come loose and sticking out/up and another wicker that is intact but you can see a split/crack not all the way thru but there so I want to mention. When you open the creel and look at the inside you can see some ends of the wicker sticking out- but not visible on outside. Overall shape of the creel is very nice especially for its age. Plenty of wear left to this fishing creel. This Fishing Creel was displayed in my Non-smoking home for less than 1 year and then it was stored in a box. Bob Geiger Wicker-Tooled Leather Trim
Offered here is a lovely hand tooled leather trim wicker creel. It was made by the late Bob Greiger of Seattle. WA. It is in excellent condition with trout, eagle head and stars embossed on both the creel and leather strap. The number 3 is embossed on the back. The creel measures 13-1/2" across the bottom and 7-1/2" high in the front and 9" in the back. As seen in the pictures, there are 2 3"x5" snap pockets(also tooled leather) on the front. I do not know the history behind this creel. I am not a collector and obtained the creel as an art piece. It truly belongs with a collector or lover of fine fishing items. Pocketed Fishing Creel w/ leather trim and tooled leather harness
Vintage fishing creel measuring approximately 12" long by 6 1/2" wide and about 6 1/2" tall(excluding the handle) Made of woven wicker with stitched leather trim and accents. A front leather pouch and leather loops for hanging on a belt. I am guessing this one dates to the early or late 50's. This creel must have gotten wet in it's day because the leather is VERY STIFF. I tried to mink oil it to soften it up. But with no avail. Because the creel has stiff leather all over it is very fragile and the top of the creel and pocket should not be opened. However. This would be a wonderful addition for a fly fishing enthusiast or lovely décor for the"man cave" cabin or collector's room. Besides the stiff leather. Vintage Fishing Creel. Good Leather trim with use wear. Looks to be split bamboo. Not an expert. Had bought this used back in the 50s.Been displayed with other fishing items since. Time to downsize. Measures 14" Long X 5" wide on the bottom, top is 12" long X 7" wide. front is 6 3/4" Tall then graduates to approx. 9" The arm straps are apart at the leather. The front leather pouch has a strap that had disconnected. The leather does have wear. It looks like this creel has been used a lot but still in fair condition considering the age. Old vintage wicker with leather trim trout fishing creel in good condition for its age. But needs repair work on the stitching, as you see pictured! Overall size is 16.75" across at the base. 6" deep and 10" tall at the back to top of handle. All original leather present. But dry, and could use conditioning( I recommend Lexol.but you may know of something better. There is not really any damage other than the stitching coming undone.please see pictures) The strap on the front is damaged and broken from use at the center hole. The back shoulder strap. Appears to be an add on, or replacement, as it has leather tooling/stamp work. I can easily make out an old 9" ruler to measure your trout on the lid in the back. This came from my family so I know it is old. Somewhere between 1920& 1940 is my best guess.

This is an old used British Hong Kong Wicker Fishing Creel. It has leather trim and has a leather shoulder strap. The creel has a ruler printed on the leather along the top. I can see what looks like?British"Hong Kong" see photos) The ruler imprint has mostly worn off. The lid is approx 12 1/2" L and 6 1/2" wide across the middle. The back is approx 8 1/2" high from the middle of the bottom back to top of leather on lid. The inside basket depth is approx 8" from the middle of the bottom of back of basket to top edge of wicker. The bottom of the basket is approx 15 3/4"L and 5 1/2" wide across the middle of the bottom. The wicker has wear with some breaks in the wicker on the lid and the leather has wear and is brittle from age. The leather on the handle has lots of wear(see photos) The front buckle ... morelooks like it was repaired and the shoulder strap is sewn together on the inside(see photos) The wicker body of the creel has come loose from the bottom and is wired on both sides(see photos) There are a few more cracks as well(see photos) The leather trim has wear and needs conditioning as does the strap. Vintage ComPac Fishing Creel Leather Trim + Strap. - Made In Japan
This is a vintage Compac fishing creel in almost new condition. It has leather trim and is stamped"15 Made in Japan" on the bottom. It comes with a carrying strap seen in photo 3. It's curved to hug your body so the measurements are approximate. It is 12" wide at the top and 14 1/2" wide at the bottom. It is 5 3/4" deep at the top and 5" deep at the bottom. It is 9" high.
