It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

This is a Vintage George Lawrence Co. Fishing Creel. It is made out of leather and wicker and is in great condition for its age. It is approx. 14" X 11" X 9" and has a leather buckle closure with front pocket that snaps shut(both the buckle and the snaps work and are in good condition) The handle strap is broken(see photo#2 and#10) and there is a one inch tear in the leather on the back(see photo#11) there is also no shoulder strap.The metal name plate on the front says"The George Lawrence Co. Solid& sturdy. The basket closure strap is a fish head& body. The head has'PAT 66289' on it. There are a few broken strands/connectors. That hold the lid on to its rim, see pictures. Also a few broken strands/connectors. On the basket part, holding the basket to the rim. The 2 leather straps holding the lid to the basket are good. The basket weveing is very tight and strong. It comes with leather straps and metal closer works well. Tail is off fish body but is included. As is all the tackle pictured. Rare Antique Vintage Fishing Creel Wicker Leather Trout Fishing Basket Nice One
Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

SUPER! Near Mint Condition Vintage Split Willow& Leather Fly Fishing Trout Creel. Found in Bozeman. Montana one of the centers of Blue Ribbon Trout Fishing in the World! It is in Amazing Condition- a couple of light stains to the leather but otherwise perfect! Lots of Great Photos to Confirm the Condition! The willow weave is tight and without flaw or damage. The leather is in Great Condition- no tears, rips or cuts of any kind, just the previously mentioned light staining in spots. The Creel is marked on the bottom- 15 MADE IN JAPAN. The Strap is also Great. It has inches marked off on the top back of the creel for measuring the catch. One nearly identical just sold for $200 on Ebay but this one is even better. This is a very nice looking. Vintage, fishing creel made of wicker with leather trim and decoration sewn onto the basket. There is a green. Cloth, web strap that is fixed to more leather strapping. It measures about 14" by 5" at the base and 12" by6" at the top. The highest stance is about 8.5" tall. Condition: The wicker is in very nice shape with no breaks or damage. The cloth strap is in very good shape with no tears. The metal rings and buckles all have rust and corrosion. The leather is very dry and shows wear. The thin strap is broken. The belt strap is also broken. The front strap has broken off and is missing. The leather lid trim has broken/missing piece on the corner. Overall. It is barn fresh and could use a good cleaning. An intriguing feature is barely visible. On the leather trim of the lid along the ... morestraight piece is stamping in inches to measure your catch. Very nice item for your collection or display.

VINTAGE FISHING CREEL Fun vintage fishing creel measuring approximately 15" wide across the base. 11" wide across the lid, 6-1/2" deep and about 10" tall including loop handle. Made of woven wicker with stitched leather trim and accents, it has a leather covered loop handle, leather loops for hanging on a belt and even a leather measuring band across the top of the lid back. Marked MADE IN TAIWAN, guessing it dates to the 1960s, lid has a brass buckle closure and condition is good with breakage to the leather strap where it meets the buckle, breakage on the two leather belt loops, and age related rubbing and wear to the leather here and there- wicker is tan from age with just two tiny breaks on the top by the fish door- does not impact function. I got this old wicker creel from an elderly fellow who told me he got this second hand years ago. he would use this creel when he went fishing. The leather patches and buckle are original to this creel. The leather shoulder sling was added by him and is much newer than the creel. He also added the leather strips that attach the lid to the basket. I only found one end of wicker broken. It is shown in the last pic. This creel is in overall very nice condition. It shows some fading on lower portion. And is a little dusty from being used in years past. Could still be used today, but does feel a little fragile. Would make a very nice display piece in home, cabin, lodge, etc. Please take a close look at pics and thanks for looking.

This vintage Fisherman's Creel is made of wicker and has a leather/metal closing fish strap and leather hinges. The condition is excellent. There are no breaks in the wicker and the leather strap and hinges are also in great shape. This basket does not have a strap. The fish head is a little dull but I did not want to clean it in fear that I would ruin it. It measures 13" across the bottom base. 10" across the top by 5" wide, about 6 1/2" tall in back and 5" tall in front. This Vintage Fishing Creel is a very good size(Rather Large) Approx measurements: 7" 8" Tall and 13" 14" Wide(Measured at Bottom/Base) The material I believe is Wicker(Woven or intertwined wicker) Leather trim along top/front crisscrossed style. There is a leather handle at the top back. Along the top/back section also a ruler. Printed Made in Hong Kong. This Fishing Creel is Vintage(I have owned for at least 15 years and it was Vintage when I bought it) I bought it for a Display Item- I never used it. It appears to more than likely have never been used for its purpose- fishing creel as clean inside. The leather is all intact- not torn. There is some very light rubbing/wear here and there on the leather. Wicker is nice ... morewith very little wear. The top has one wicker piece near the square cut out opening that has come loose and sticking out/up and another wicker that is intact but you can see a split/crack not all the way thru but there so I want to mention. When you open the creel and look at the inside you can see some ends of the wicker sticking out- but not visible on outside. Overall shape of the creel is very nice especially for its age. Plenty of wear left to this fishing creel. This Fishing Creel was displayed in my Non-smoking home for less than 1 year and then it was stored in a box. this old fishing basket is 14 1/2" wide at the bottom and 8" high. It looks very old and has some hand sewing on it. On the leather. There are snaps on the pocket pouch. The shoulder strap is missing, and there is just one leather loop at the back. It is in need of leather polish, as it is stiff and was hard to get the lid down. There is some wear on it as you can see in my photos. But it would look nice as decoration, maybe with a plant in it? It shows age and looks original. It measures about 12" wide. 6 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" deep. Overall the condition is very nice however there is small damage on the one corner and it is missing one piece on the front of the woven wicker(see photos) The leather strap has a cracked piece from age, but appears to be complete. This old fishing basket is a larger one.16" long and 9" high, 5" deep without the leather pocket. There is hand sewing on it, with leather trim. It looks to be very old and is in rough condition in places, as shown in my pictures. The shoulder strap is missing, the leather handle is there, but torn some from the basket.It was hard to strap closed, due to stiffness and part of the strap missing. It's in need of leather oil. But still a nice piece for decorating, or in the garden, etc.

This is a vintage wicker creel. With leather hinges as pictured and a canvas strap attached(as pictured too) There are also openings in the back for another strap. It measures approx. 16" x 9" x 9-1/2 tall" It's in excellent condition, with only one*partial* break in the wicker(as pictured! and otherwise beautiful, tight weaving throughout. The stitching is in perfect shape. There is a little bit of residue, like maybe salt residue on the leather, but otherwise it's all clean. The strap drop is 22" from peak of strap to top of lid) and looks newer than the creel itself. There is no brand or characteristic marking, as far as I can tell, but I am in the Portland, OR area, fwiw. It will be wrapped carefully to avoid any damage in transit and shipped the first business day following cleared paypal payment.
