Vintage H.J. Collis Fishing Creel made in USA of canvas and leather with some man made vinyl/fabric edging. 17" long and about 11.5" tall at the tallest part. There is a main compartment and also two pockets that the top flap closes over and snaps onto.The top flap has a 12" ruler printed on it and above the ruler is a small"3Z" A brass zipper on top that is in good shape.Many metal grommets in the bag body that are in very good condition. There is some of the vinyl type edging that has lost some of it's finish. It's still intact but the shiny surface is flaking off. A section if the wide leather band has become unstitched. on the bottom, but it could be attached. Some small cosmetic stains, nothing too big. On the back, the dark green strap holder has been re-sewn with some white thread along a part of the ... moretop. VINTAGE FISH CREEL AND OTHER CANVAS BAGS
Up for auction is a Vintage Canvas unnamed Creel. Size is approx. 10 X 12 inches. It has a canvas strap sewn to the bag and is in very good shape. There are two zippers on the bag. The one on top for the fish compartment and one on the side for the weatherproof pocket. The plastic liner in in very good shape and I could not find any weather rot or cracks in it. Both zippers work well. The wire mesh underneath is totally intact and I could not find any holes in it. Even the leather type binding on top is not cracked or broken. The bag is dirty but in very good condition for it's age. On the other bags there are two have moon pouches that are 4 X 5 1/2 inches in the closed position. There are two cotton pads on one side of the inside pouch. They close with velcro so they can't be that old. The darker canvas bag looks military but has ... moreno numbers on it. Size of the bag is 7 1/2 X 9 inches appox. It has a button closure on the flap. The lighter colored bag has a drawstring for a closure and is 9 X 11 inches approx. Vintage The Arcticreel Fishing Creel Canvas Bag Fish
Here is a vintage canvas fish creel. It is marked THE ARCTICREEL PATENT APPLIED FOR? WELL SOAKED WHILE IN USE. It has a ruler marked from 7 to 12" printed on the front. This measures about 13 1/2" wide and 12" tall. This is sold as-is for display or repair. The plastic on the back has cracks and a piece missing. The inside plastic has tears and cracks. All of the plastic is brittle. There is some rust on the metal parts. The bag has discoloring and a large(1 3/4" tear at the bottom and several small tears on the top flap. This is a Vintage Hand Woven Wicker Fishing Creel With Canvas Strap& Wood Fish Decor. The wicker is very lightly colored and accented with color trim near top and bottom all the way around to add just a touch of character. Leather straps are used for lid hinges. The hook for the closure is made with a wooden carved brightly painted fish. There are two wood carved beautifully painted fish which dangle to the side on the front. The strap. Which is approximately 14 1/2 inches long, is made with a very sturdy green army type canvas. The inside depth of the fishing creel is approximately 8 inches, width on the bottom is approximately 7 inches, and the length on the bottom is approximately 11 1/2 inches long. The opening is approximately 7 inches in width and approximately 8 1/2 inches long. Vintage "Hirsch Weis" White Stag Heavy Burlap / Canvas Fish Creel Portland Or.
Rare vintage Hirsch Weis( founder white stage 1929) KOOLAIRE Heavy canvas fish creel. Hirsch and Weis made canvas sails for deep water sailing ships and canvas tents starting in the late 1800's. Its apparent they used that same technology when making this fish creel. Creel is 13" wide. 9" tall, 5" deep at bottom tapering to 3" at the top. Creel has an adjustable shoulder strap. Side pocket with heavy duty galvanized zipper, two stainless tie off rings and a stainless hook buckle type catch. Both the large side pocket and the fish holding area are 100% lined with a thick heavy vinyl or plastic. There is also a heavy plastic flap on the back of the creel for an insulating barrier between the wearer and the cold fish. This is a heavy stiff rugged creel. Not floppy, and extremely well made.
