Vintage Fly Fishing Wicker Basket Creel Fisherman's Basket
Welcome! Up for auction is this great woven vintage fishing creel! It is in nice condition. With a few flaws as follows. There are some broken strands along the sides at the bottom. There are a few cracks in the bark that makes up the strap that goes around the basket. They are in the front at the very bottom and there is one chipped spot towards the left side of the photo about midway up. These flaws are visible in the photos if you zoom in on them. Other than those listed, the main part of the basket is in very nice condition, finished with a shiny gloss. The strap makes a twenty inch loop. The hinges are intact and in good condition, but the lid needs a bit of adjustment when opened. Feel free to email me with questions or for more photos. It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back. Vintage Antique Leather Split Woven Willow Wicker Fly Fishing Creel Basket VGC
Up for auction is a very nice split willow and leather fishing creel from early 1900's. The only real issue I see with this piece is the leather closure strap is broke. Although it is present and will be included for possible repair. Otherwise the basket is tight with little to no damage. The leather on the rest of the creel looks to be in very good condition as well. Slight discoloration inside on the bottom which just gives it credibility. Good luck.

It appears to be very old and has definitely seen better days. The bottom portions of the basket are very sound. The lid is more aged and shows some breakage of weave. But for its age is rather good. VINTAGE HORROCKS IBBOTSON? FISHING CREEL BASKET W/ FISH STYLE LATCH AND HANDLE
I have for sale a vintage Fishing Creel. I have found similar examples of this creel sold by Horrocks Ibbotson Co. I believe it was made in Hong Kong. Japan. It is in used but still very good usable or decorative condition with no breaks in the weaving that I can see. The fish shape latch is complete with some rusting on the metal. The creel measures 14" across at the base and 9 3/4" across the top. All in all a very well made fishing creel. If anyone has anymore information on this basket I would be glad to add it to the description. I use USPS Priority Mail in the USA so the cost to ship will be a flat rate $6.00. good shape. Nothing missing, all leather is supple with the exception of the buckle to close the basket. when I was getting the basket ready to sell I broke that piece. I don't know why that is brittle, the basket has never been in the sun since I have had it. there are wear marks on the back bottom both sides as you can see in the pis. the basket is 10' tall 15' wide, the engraved ruler can't be seen in the pics I did try but i'ts very viasble. thanks, sindy down sizing because health.

This auction features a Vintage Wicker with Leather trim Fishing Creel. I don't know the age of this basket. Looks to be fairly old to me. The basket is primarily wicker with leather trim and a canvas shoulder strap. The shoulder strap does not connect to one side, bit is present. The leather does have some dark marks and is cracked in several places. Please check out the photos. The buckle over the top will not hold since leather can been cut short. The top wants to stay open but I think can be trained to stay closed again. The handle has significant wear and the leather has worn off in spots. Up for auction is a very old fishing creel. There is a anchor mark on the brass buckle and something stamped into the strap but I can't read it. It is 6.5" tall and 9" wide at the base. Leather is in very good condition. There is on break in the wicker on the back going around the frame. Most of the brass and rivets are greening or oxidizing. Beautiful piece for use or display.

This is a thrift store find-not sure of the age or where it came from. But it looks like an old fishing basket or fishing creel. It has a woven handle, hinged flap and a string where it was supposed to"lock" over something that isn't there anymore. Measures 14" tall to handle x 13" wide x a little over 8" deep across the bottom. It is in pretty good condition- has some dark spots on the front flap and a few strips are broken in two, and of course some discoloration you would expect from age. This miniature creel was probably made in the 1930's and is cast in a dark bronze finished metal with excellent workmanship and detail. Besides the fine wicker detail. The inside of the basket is detailed with four metal fish; and the outside of the creel has eels slithering around it. The underside is covered in green felt, and the back has a manufacturer's mark"MCA" This miniature creel measures 3" tall by 3" wide and 2" deep, and weighs 12 oz. Antique Split Willow Fishing Creel Basket Leather Hinges
This antiques fishing creel has a dark patina that has come from years of use. It is a fine tightly-weaved split-willow basket fastened to an interestingly shaped bottom. The back side of the bottom has a nice curve to it. It measures 11" wide x 7.5" deep x 9" high.The hinges and the closure are both leather. The closure works like this: the leather strap goes over a wire loop and then the clip fastens through the loop. This is a primitive arrangement but I cannot see that there ever was any other closure. It has one break in one piece of the willow on the top edge of one side as shown in the pictures. It in no way diminishes the looks of this creel. This would make a wonderful decorating piece filled with flowers. Dishtowels, wash cloths, etc or used to store items anywhere in your home. 1900's Wicker-Leather Vintage Fishing Creel Basket Occupied British Hong Kong
Early 1900's wicker fishing creel measures 9" x 4 1/2" x 6" Still in excellent condition. The middle leather strap has a small piece missing off the side of the metal snap( minor see last pic) but that's really it. Marked on the leather hinge right below the 5" Ruler~Made in British Hong Kong.
