Vintage fishing creel circa 1950's to 1960's. Wicker basket with hand sewn leather tim. Has a fly fishing bait attached as an added bonus decor to it. The strap to fasten it is broken. There is some dirt from use and storage. Has a nice long leather shoulder strap. It is 13" long. 8" high, and 5" across. Nice old fishing kreel and would make a nice display piece.

Vintage Fishing Kreel Woven Wicker Circa 1950's Fish Basket -Leather Hinges Worn
This is a vintage fishing kreel that belonged to my father. Probably from around the 1950's? Really old, has been done in the basement forever. Possibly had been his father's first. Made like a woven basket. Shows some wear such as warping, leather straps worn, and dust. A long time ago the straps were reinforced with string so the lid would still work, but it needs some TLC. Stands 6" tall by about 5 1/2" deep. 8 1/2" wide at the top, and 9" wide at bottom. I just figured out that the lid has a sliding stick that goes into a loop when the lid is closed. To hold it shut.

Vintage Fishing Trout Creel Wicker and Leather Kreel and '75 PA Fishing License
This is a vintage leather and wicker fishing creel. And it comes with a 1975 Pennsylvania fishing license pin that is on a piece of leather strap that broke off of the creel. The wicker is in really good shape with no breakage, but the leather has obvious wear. The strap and handles are no longer attached. The leather pouch is sturdy and the flap opens without the leather cracking, as does the top of the basket. On the top of the basket is a ruler printed on the leather that is still mostly visible. There is a slice in the leather on the left side of the pouch cover. The basket is 7.5" high and 15" across at the widest part. It is 8" deep from the front of the pouch to the back of the basket. I do not ship outside of the United States and I only accept payment from PayPal accounts based in the United States.

I don't know anything about creels. So please use the pictures as the description. I bought this at an estate sale in Vermont, it had been hanging in a barn, the leather strap is a bit dry feeling, but the basket is in great shape with the exception of one piece that holds the lid is broken and replaced with a cable tie; the weave reminds me of an Adirondack pack basket. The basket part of the fishing creel is in great condition the leather is dried out I understand it can be brought back I was going to do it but have way to many projects. Antique Fishing Kreel wicker !910-1920
This antique Fishing Kreel made of wicker and in excellent condition. See photos for exact idea of condition. The latch for top is made out of carved wood and it slides into a loop of wicker. The loop that hold slide on top is broken but the loop that is in the center of slide that holds slide to the top is good. The real old kreels had this type of latch.
