Made with canvas and plastic it is a perfect bag to keep your fish in while your waist deep in the river. It is used and in great condition. Has some stains on the front and back, but no holes or tears. The strap is near mint condition. Extremely good condition especially for the age. The snap works great also and this bag is sold as is. Up for auction is this great vintage 1970-80 Orvis Willow Fishing Creel with strap and original paper tag. The original tag was inside the creel- the glue dried up over the years. It looks like the creel was never used- no stains on inside. Has minor wear on bottom from moving around in attic. The strap stored inside was never put on. The owner was not a fisherman. Up for sale is a vintage split wicker with window fishing creel.Has a cloth and leather shoulder strap. Vintage very rare 1950s Orvis wicker fishing creel
Up for bids with no reserve A very rare vintage Orvis wicker creel. It is in remarkable condition for its age. The original leather straps are not dried out and stiff like on most old creels. The straps are still supple and very usable. The back strap is full length for over the sholder use. The front strap and buckle work like new. This creel has not had much use and has not been stored in a damp basement or hot attic. It is a center hole as was used at the turn of the century. It is referred to as an Orvis because it was made exclusively for Orvis Sporting Goods in Vermont. It appears in the book"The Art of the Creel. Vintage 1950's ORVIS Whole Wicker Fishing Creel with Leather Harness~Excellent!
Vintage mid-20th century fishing creel that was produced exclusively for the famous Sporting Goods Company in Vermont"Orvis" This whole wicker. Center hole creel was in their 1950's catalog. It retains all its original wicker construction, lid hinges and front leather closing strap. It does have a leather and canvas harness found with it. Harnesses were"after market" purchases as an accessory item. The closing strap and buckle are still intact but leather shows wear. This creel model can be seen in the collectors book"The Art of the Creel" The creel has original Makers Stamp No. P9871 on bottom and behind leather strap. It measures approximately 14" across, 6 1/2" front to back and 8 1/2" high. It has a beautiful woven"overlap" top lid design with a turn of the century center hole ... moreconfiguration.
