Up for auction is an Orvis Battenkill Multiplier 8/9 standard arbor fly reel made in England. The spool maybe easily and quickly removed to change right/left hand retrieve. The reel is made for 8 or 9 wt. line. It is a multiplier reel. Meaning that for each turn of the reel handle the reel turns more than once. There seem to be a couple of minor, hard for me to see scratches on the reel and it seems function perfectly. It is a heavy duty reel that only weighs 5 ozs. I have lubed it and comes with a full reel of backing,fly line and tippet. We have a smoke-free home. It has no case, but does have the original box and instructions. Dingley W.H. 3 ½” aluminum trout reel. This very nice example of the Dingley brass pin caged spool reel has a full length smooth brass foot and an ivorine spool knob. It has the traditional spring-loaded“telephone” latch, which works as it should, and the horseshoe checking spring(similar to Hardy’s 1896 check) with the block letter“D” for Dingley- beside the spring. The reel was made for tackle retailer Wallace& Kerr of Edinburgh and is presently set up for LHW. There is some spool slap on this reel, and one spot on the back shows signs of corrosion. These early, ca. 1920s examples of Walter Dingley’s fly reels are hard to find.

Original Quality Hardy Marquis Salmon 3. This is THE big one. This is an early model with the ribbed foot and was made when Hardy tackle making was at its finest. Simple in design and built like the proverbial tank there is almost nothing to go wrong with the mechanism of the reel. With a Double ratchet this reel is spotless inside but the outer reel casing has scratching to the enameled finish. As usual the spool edges show spotting to the chrome finish. Used spool for bronze color LL Bean Double L fly reel. Mechanically the spool is in very good condition. There are some cosmetic marks(see pictures) including a couple of small blemishes on the rim. An'E' shaped mark on the outer and and an'x' mark on the back that cannot be seen when in use. This item was made for LL Bean by STH of Argentina. Spool diameter is 3 3/4" and is 3/4" wide. I think this fits the size 8 reel. But check your frame before bidding. Machined from a single piece of aluminum-magneisium alloy. Bushings, pawls, gears are from naval bronze. This is a used Aurora Cross Creek Modell CC56C fly reel. It work fine. It is set up for right handed retrieve but can be changed. I have no other information. I bought the reel used and fished it only once. It looks like it will handle 3/4/or 5 weight line. I will supply a reel bag but do not have any literature to send. I am selling it because I really don't use it. It has a small nick in the spool rim(see picture 2 near reel foot) and some slight 1/4 inch wear to the finish on the handle side of the spool. Nothing about it will affect its ability to be a fine fishing reel.

Vintage Hardy Bros. LTD The Perfect Fly Reel 3-3/8", with Extra Spool
This is an original made in England 3-3/8" Hardy Perfect Fly Reel. It was purchased new in the 1970-1980's and was used for a short time. It was then carefully stored in it's orginal padded Hardy case. And the extra spool stored in a protective bag. The reel appears in almost new condition, except for light rub marks visible next to the winding handle, and small scratches on the top surface of the polished aluminum reel foot, where it was attached to the fly rod's reel seat- please see photographs. The overall finish of the reel is in excellent conditon. The Agate Line Guard enclosed in the silver ring is smooth and polished with no defects. Chips or scratches. Mechanically the reel is in perfect operational condition. With no noticeable wear to any moving parts. There is no play or wobble in the spindle or spool. The Extra ... moreSpool is in almost perfect condition. The original padded zippered Hardy case is also in excellent condition with no damage. The Hardy Perfect Fly Reel remains one of the few fly reels to utilize ball bearings for spool rotation. Which accounts for its ultra smooth and steady winding action. The traditonal click pawls give this classic quality English reel it's unmistakable Hardy sound when a fish runs. The drag is fully adjustable by way of the knurled brass knob. The reel will accomodate up to a#7 line with approx 200 ft of 15 lb. dacron backing. With a#6 or#5 line it will hold 100 + yards of dacron backing. If you've always wanted a classic Hardy Perfect. This is a beautiful reel. You won't be disappointed.

This is the smallest reel made by Orvis at the time. It is perfectly balanced with 1.2, or 3 wt rods. It was made by Hardy in England. I am offering two extra spools for a total of three. One is filled with a double taper one wt(no backing) and another with wf 2 wt for windier days(no backing) The third is filled with backing and a 3 wt wf line.
