On offer is a vintage. Or possibly antique, metal fishing reel. It is 75mm in diameter with most of the outer assembly made of aluminium with the plate covering one side and the rod plate being made of brass. It also has brass screws and a Bakelite handle. I have 5 old vintage 1940/ 50's Alvey's(4) 1 large Jarvis walker spinning reel all fishing reels in working condition. It is part of a collection. There is 1 alvey rosewood spool chome backed 650/ A3/ 7. 1 Alvey Bakelite& chrome backed 550 Reel, Fibreglass Alvey 650/ A5/ 7 surf champion reel spool has small repair but still OK& working, 1 Alvey rosewood spool& chrome back 500/ A3 reel. The other reel is a large Jarvis walker X 7500 spinning surf reel. All reels need a small clean but this is how they were found but all work, 2 reels have 1 handle missing as per photo's which forms part of my description. for sale here is a very very good and barely used daiwa 813 by JW youngs from the now very sought after 1500 series and the same model as a bruce and walker expert. 4.25" size, 1.25" wide drum model, rim tension, twin checks, left or right wind, multi perforated frame and spool for lightness and line drying, double lineguard, centre boss has no cracks, 2 screw drum release, unfiled and straight foot, reel is very good undamaged with no buckles and no paint loss at all, its a good clean and tidy tight reel with good strong check, very very good example this one, definately the best i have had.comes with a spare spool which is also as good, a daiwa zipper reel pouch, also good and the original box for the spare spool which is a little worn but still ok.very very fine lot this one.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage ... morefishing items this week.

A BLACK KNIGHT 400 MODEL MULTIPLYING FISHING REEL. Having only recently been instructed by the vendors solicitors to totally clear and sanitise a property prior to it being placed on the market. We followed their instructions and have now, at last, completed the task. The house contained all the‘residual kelter’ of very long habitation and some items of minor value were recovered. The real antique, vintage and collectable pieces were found in the two outside sheds. These items had lain undisturbed and to all intents and purposes, totally forgotten since the winter of 2009. It appears that the deceased had declined from making a will. As a direct consequence of this lack of legal transfer documentation, the time gap between his demise and the release of our own particular set of instructions was somewhat delayed. Obviously there were probate ... moreproblems, a condition we have encountered on several occasions where only the'paper shufflers’ make any positive headway. However, all's well that ends well and as previously mentioned it was in the outside sheds that we found some real quality items.viz: This item and others of its ilk came to light in one of the buildings. A lot of tackle was recovered but sadly most of the older. Wooden and cane rods have been dumped due to long damp storage at the far end of the main shed. This area was exposed to the elements after the gales of four years ago. All had rotten joints and were split and swollen etc. Only a few survived. The more modern fibre glass and graphite jobs are still okay…to a point. More of this later. This item is a fairly mundane, ten a penny job' but it works and it’s a mucky’ode toad. A good clean would help…anybody? We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. Unmarked but surely made for the trade by allcocks or similar, tiny 1& 3/4" size, good solid british build and much better quality than similar portage pressed thin reels, silent check, full straight unfiled brass foot, bone handle very nice little reel and winds well with good check, no buckles line burns or damage. very nice example and i have dressed it with an old silk line to make it display better, this is a lovely example in a very rarely seen size.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

This is a good working example of the Mitchell 302. Saltwater Spinning Reel. It is a fixed spool reel and is in good working order but as stated above the winding action is a bit stiff because of the congealed grease inside the mechanism. The bail arm operates correctly. There is some loss of finish to the paintwork as can be seen on the side plate. This reel is held in the right hand and wound with the left. It is not ambidextrous. If you have any questions. Unlike most handles of this type that come up on E-Bay as spares there is no deformity or bending in the handle shafts. Boxed Garcia Mitchell 410 Fishing Reel. Toggle anti reverse type. The paperwork is a Garcia information booklet which has a detached cover from the rest of the booklet. Due to a rusty staple with a two piece guarantee card, their is some age related discolouring etc, no major tears or rips or writing, just age oil and maybe water damage over its life. The box and yellow tray are in a good condition. With no cracks, fairly nice used condition as its over 40 years old, hard to find in this condition. The serial number is 7584925(1967 summer of love) with just 410 on the clam box. T he body has small paint loss on the spool and very small marks on the foot see photo`s. The cover plate is in a nice condition. The bail arm chrome is very nice and bright the older type with a red bumper. The anti reverse works as it should. The winding arm works ... moreas it should. The handle is a torpedo type complete and in good condition. The reel comes with a shallow spool fitted and a deep spool in a pot. The reel is a smooth generally very little used. Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Reel with a teflon gear and a spare spool in a screw top alum can. The serial number on the back of the body is C64431. I have included lot`s of photo`s so you can see the condition which i think is good for its age. It has been serviced and operates smoothly and could be used to fish with. The bail arm chrome is fairly good. The body paintwork is worn in places. It is a nice working and half bail reel. Which is probally 60 plus years old. If you have any questions please ask.

Vintage Antique 4" Marcus Warrick Marco brass & wood Nottingham fishing reel
Here we have for auction a 4" Marcus Warrick Nottingham fishing reel in an absolutely beautiful condition complete with beautifully marked. Caramel coloured horn handles set on petite brass plates, thick cut curved copper brass to the starback, recesed deep spool with butterfly latch, deeply set- brass lined to the backplate& convexed brass flange to the spool, brass calliper, large steel pawl and pawl gear- always a sign of quality and a ventilated spool which finishes this off perfectly! This quality reel has a very strong optional check that when switched over sounds a nice firm click with a chime from the brass. With the check off the spool turns nice& smooth on the turn and one good spin will see the spool return many revolutions with absolutely no wobble! Early Leighton Threadline Fishing Reel. Stationary Drum Reel
This is a rare collectors reel. It is the Leighton No 1. Stationary Drum Reel which means that the spool upon which the line is set remains still while the Flyer or Cup with the bail arm rotate around it to retrieve the line. The reel was the brainchild of a Mr C Evans who patented his idea in 1946. You don't see many of the about these days. The reel has a Bakelite body housing and spool with alloy foot. Flyer and spindle/clutch housing. As stated above the flyer turns when the clutch setting is in certain positions but does not respond to in all positions. I have not attempted to dismantle the reel as I have no idea of what is inside. Other than that the reel is in very good condition. If you ave any questions. Please get in touch before bidding.
