ABU CARDINAL 57 SPINNING REEL. HERE FOR AUCTION WE HAVE THIS LUMP OF A REEL THE ABU CARDINAL 57. COMES COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL BOX PAPERS AND SPANNER. A TRUE COLLECTORS ITEM THE CARDINAL 57 WAS A SHORT LIVED REEL ONLY MADE FOR 4 YEARS 1978-82. THERE WERE MANY SPIN OFFS OF THE BLACK 50 SERIES REELS AND THIS MODEL HAD A COUPLE. 1980 SAW THE RELEASE OF THE GARCIA VERSION AND ANOTHER VERSION KNOWN AS THE AMBASSADEUR. THE GARCIA REEL WAS AROUND FOR 2 YEARS AND THE AMBASSADEUR EVEN LESS. THIS MODEL IS THE FIRST OF THE 57 REELS MADE FOR THE EUROPEAN MARKET MANUFACTURED IN 1979. 790902 IS THE SERIAL NUMBER ON THE REEL FOOT AND A TRULY LOVELY REEL. AS I SAID IT HAS NOT BEEN FISHED EVER AND IS COMPLETE WITH BOX AND PAPERS. ONLY REASON I SAY ITS BEEN USED IS BECAUSE OF THE SMALL WEAR MARK ON THE BALL BEARING STICKER. Vintage Wood Brass Iron Fishing Reel
This old reel is in as found condition from a shed clearance. I know very little about reels hence all the photographs. It turns ok but is a little tight probably from lack of use. It does not click when turning. Timber part of the reel measures just over 2 1/4 inches in diameter. Bottom part is brass and back part is iron. There is a small crack above both winders and a little chip missing from back of one of them( see photo) I cannot see a makers name on it. A Good condition 4 Brothers Pard in nickel silver finish with some very slight rubbing along the top edge of the frame. I nice example with a good ivorine handles. Vintage Mitchell 300S Fishing Reel with Spare Spool - Ser No P-3-06
A Mitchell 300S fishing reel with a spare deep spool. The serial number looks like P-3-06 The anti reverse works as it should and is the silent type. The bail arm works correctly. The chrome is very good. A small amount of paint is missing on the foot a very small spot loss on the bottom of the body. The spool holder is very good, the cover plate is very good, the name plate badge paint is almost perfect, this is a superb 30 year old reel. A excellant 300S fishing reel. One to use or collect.
